(The current priest at the parish in Westchester worked for a Big 4 accounting firm between finishing his studies and getting married.). Only those priests who want to be bishops or higher in the org chart are not allowed to get married.

We don't have nearly the amount of diddling going on because most of the priests get to fuck their wives regularly.

today, the orthodox church appears to many to be a mystical branch of christianity that can't get the date of easter correct. i was asked by a religious catholic filipino if the orthodox believe in God. i said the new testament was written in greek..do you think the greek church doesn't understand it's own language and writings?

calendar dates...how really important are they? i believe the english 'erased' 11-13 days off the calendar in the 1700s to 'reset' and give a uniformed date to all it's colonies around the world. i'm not sure how that effects an easter date, but if the 'last supper' celebrated the end of passover, then it seems a given that christian easter must occur after jewish passover. the orthodox always observe easter after passover.
