this was woefully inferior to the first season, and i don't buy the "it was supposed to be 5 seasons" excuse. there were a lot of wasted subplots that went nowhere or could've been replaced with stronger elements. dedra/cyril's plot was the most absorbing and had the most dramatic impact, especially considering dedra's final shot.
the whole season was uneven, besides that with every 4th episode, we fast forward a year. there were some good moments with luthen/kleya, and luthen/andor...as i said, the backstory of kleya and luthen was well done. that could've even been expanded a little more like cassian's was in the first season.
it'll be odd for people who haven't seen any of it to go from season 1, which is extremely patient and deliberate with its storytelling...to the jarring, wonky, and loud-to-soft-to-loud careening of season 2.
not that it was a total waste, and still it had enough good things to get you through the 12 episodes. compared to the first season, though, it's a huge step down.
i think i'd still give the whole show

out of

but i was really hoping this could be an all-time classic. paired with "rogue one", i guess i'll find out when i rewatch it. although, i still think "rogue one" gets too much love as being on par or even better than some of the original trilogy. i still recall its biggest flaw that character development was nil. that's what i was looking forward to with "andor", but only a handful of characters go on to "rogue one". so it isn't much of a companion piece in that regard.
doesn't compel me to watch any of the other "star wars" shows but i am glad that diego luna got to flex out as an actor in this. he's really top notch and deserves more roles that show off his range and talent.

id be surprised if there wasnt at least a mention of some sort in the final three - especially the final episode. Wouldnt need to be with her character on screen and in the forefront. just some dialogue
not one.
