started S2 tonight, only watched the first episode. the tie fighter heist sequence was awesome; there were some odd silly tonal shifts that were a bit off but other than that it was decent.

the bickering rebels thing wasn't great.

not great through the first 3 episodes. the planet of the neverland lost boys was stupid, and had a...rock paper scissors game? i mean, even for comic relief, that was lame.

the wedding...yeesh.

the dinner scene between blondie and cyril's overbearing and passive aggressive mom was the most entertaining part of the 3rd episode.

and is it like a bodily function of writers to insist on some attempted rape scene for no reason?

the first 3 episodes of S1 were not this uneven. but my feeling that this couldn't sustain 5 seasons is vindicated.

Watched episodes 4 and 5 this morning. W_Z I don't disagree with you on most of your assessment of the first batch of episodes but I did think that the wedding was semi-interesting, especially when Mothma started taking shots and the music ramped up.

i think they must've had some restraint after already shoehorning in the word "illegal" a few times.

4th episode was decent, finally giving some more screen time to the namesake of the show. the one year jump for these 3-episode arcs is a bit jarring at first. but the most intriguing thing is what's going on in ghorman (psycho goreman?). the purpose of the subplot is obvious but cyril's story is developing well. he's become a very strong character, and villain.

Thru episode 6 and while a bit uneven I really enjoy the story and acting. Good original writing. Halfway through I’m hooked for the second half. It’s one of the better shows I’ve seen in a while and what I wish that Disney could capitalize on more in the Star Wars world.

something that struck me as i got through episode 5, that cyril and dedra's relationship is almost identical to dwight and angela's.

the 6th episode ended pretty badass, i'm guessing the next time jump will show the ghorman progression.

looks like the empire had their own met gala.

Just watched 7 and 8 this morning. Should be an interesting ride. They were relatively short episodes but 8 was quite good.

The chant of "We are Ghor! The galaxy is watching!" that went on for seemingly half the episode nearly had me rooting for the Empire.

Wait, you mean there are people who watch Star Wars and DON'T root for the Empire? WTF? The Emperor and Darth Vader are easily the two best, most badass characters in the Star Wars universe--and two of the all-time great villains in cinematic history to boot. All the rebels have is Chewbacca. Luke is a whiny priss. Leia is an arrogrant aristocrat with an exaggerated sense of her talents and value to society. And for all of his vaunted knowledge of the force, Yoda is the least competent head of galactic security ever. Who in their right mind would ever side with this band of unlikeable ass clowns?

it reminded me of the incessant chanting of "Evil dies tonight!" in "Halloween Kills".

at least at some point they started singing the ghor national anthem for their world cup soccer team.

the confrontation between cyril and cassian was a highlight but this season has been disappointing compared to the first season overall so far.

Episode 9 was a bit disappointing but have high hopes for next week's last 3 installments.

Would you men stick your dicks in Bix?

She seems like high maintenance and way too dry to be fun.

there was a lot of time after the climactic escape that felt stretched out too much.

i know it's been asked around the interwebs, but it's been definitely glaring to me that leia hasn't even been mentioned, with bail organa being more prominent in the last few episodes. by now she'd be in her teens, and already part of the rebellion.

there was something i read that they didn't want to re-cast her being so close to the age of carrie fisher when she portrayed leia in "hope". but it just feels off that organa is much more important in these episodes and it's like she doesn't even exist. that doesn't really track.

id be surprised if there wasnt at least a mention of some sort in the final three - especially the final episode. Wouldnt need to be with her character on screen and in the forefront. just some dialogue
