I would recommend it without question. Very good, not great.

I would probably put it at great, but I don't want people going in with too high of expectations. When that happens, even a great movie seems OK.

This is definitely a guys movie while Magic Mike is more for women.

My suggestion for couples? Find a theater where both are playing at compatible times have dinner together go to the 2 movies seperately and have "fun" together afterwards.

i went to see this Saturday night. got tickets for the 7:45 show
due to several factors, showed up at 7:40 or so ....show was sold out (had tickets tho)
girl shook her head several times
we went into abraham lincoln vampire hunter instead
which was basically a steven seagal movie set in the 1800's
when we left about 10, the line for the 10:15 show was like a mile long
i do want to see it, but i was surprised the demand was so high ....i'll wait a few weeks when the crowds die down a bit or go to a matinee

I went yesterday after work (plenty of seats available, Bagels). I thought it was funny. I'd give it 3/4. I don't think they went overboard re: the referential humor. It seemed to flow nicely into the story.

Spoiler Alert!!!!!

I can't believe they found the Flash Gordon guy.

I also noticed they added the signature drawn out fight, which was pretty funny.

Very disappointing. The flashback dance scene, the angry Asian neighbor, the creepy stalkers, the Mexican/Jewish/black jokes and the bosses were not funny. Nora Jones was the best they could come up with for her part? A lot of instances where there was an obvious scene where Mcfarland expected laughs but only had awkward silence in my theater. All of the characters other than Ted, Mila and Flash were terrible and the writing was awful.

I have to admit that I wanted this to be good. The trailers I saw on line were hilarious. But I have to agree with the negative reviews from the guys here.

one and a half stars.

Mila K. = four stars

Family Guy hasn't really been funny in a long, long time. But I hear this movie is the cats meow.

Saw it with my lady yesterday. As two fans of MacFarlane (Cleveland, Family Guy), this was disappointing. I agree with a lot of what Zack and Belvidere said. Jokes were either explained, or bits were set up huge with little or no payoff. Many "awkward silence" moments in the theater when big laughs were expected. I'm not saying there were no laughs, but I rarely had a reason to give more than a half-hearted chuckle at most of the jokes.

I'm seeing why so many people think MacFarlane is such a one-trick pony with his "reference humor". It's literally all he does.

I really wanted to like this movie, but I couldn't. Wish I'd saved my money and waited to rent it on Redbox.

Also saw it yesterday. It was okay. Had its moments. Mila Kunis is a piece of ass. It was basically like a live action Family Guy episode except 2 hours long (with the same amount of jokes).

I saw it this weekend and I liked it. I would rather have waited to rent it, I'm not a big fan of seeing comedies in the theater.

Only time I've ever cried at a movie. Luckily I was 7. Make fun, but I was/am a big dog lover.

I will be seeing Ted tonight and will report back tomorrow with thoughts.

See something else. Not Savages. That sucked.

Savages was no good BC? That sucks, I had hopes it might be a good one.

It could have been, but fell short on so many levels.

My wife saw that with her friends while me and one of the other husbands went to Savages. They said the theater was raukus with tons of desperate middle aged women hootin' and hollerin'. Also said there were lots of tits in it, including Olivia Munn in a sex scene. Judging by that info, its probably a much better movie than both Ted and Savages.

For some reason the preview I saw reminded me of Alf.

Caught this last week. Was not worth the $11 price of admission. Whoever compared it to Family Guy's recent state is spot on. Lots of swing and misses. Plus I was never a Flash Gordon fan, so that was lost on me. Save your money, kids. Catch it on TV down the line.

Went to see it today. Not bad. You got to be into McFarlens humor to really enjoy it. Wow is Kunis hot. Great Ryan Reynolds cameo.
