So I've been rewatching this series from start to finish over the past couple months. Didn't think it was possible, but this show is even better the 2nd time around. Now that i know all the color symbolism its cool to watch the eps with that in mind. Also, knowing how everything will end up...there are so many subtle clues that I didn't notice the first time around.

I got up to Dead Freight last night, I think is ep 5 or 6 of the final season. What an amazing ep to see again. First time through I never noticed the distant faint train whistle at the end of the opening scene with the little kid on the dirt bike. Best part though was seeing the absolute pinacle of Walt and Jesse's relationship/drug empire when Todd tells them that the train caper plan was perfect and that Walt and Jesse thought of everything. Walt and Jesse give each other a smile as if to say, "yea we are pretty fucking awesome, aren't we." Of course as we all know they didn't think of everything and that moment right there was the last time either one of them would smile for the rest of the series. Its all basically downhill from there.

Also really enjoying the demise of Walt. I was a huge fan of him during my first viewing and thought he was a genius building his empire, but what I'm seeing this time is that he's really no different from a lot of criminals in that he lets his ego and hubris get him in trouble and in the end its a series of stupid mistakes that did him in. Getting drunk at Hank's house and pretty much telling Hank that there was probably someone a lot smarter than Gale Boedicker behind the scenes was the one singular event that led to the entire downfall of a meth empire. Before Walt did that, Hank was ready to drop the case. Only after Walt saying that did Hank take a closer look and find the Pullos Hermanos connection.

Wow, I agree with every single thing you've said here. We've found a common ground!

I haven't re-watched the entire series, but sometimes I'll put a few of my favorite episodes on. "Salud" (the second to last episode of Season 4, I believe) was so fucking brilliant that it made me love Gus for just a little while....pure genius and fucking badass!! 8) 8) 8)

Agreed Jeff. The two scenes at Don Eladio's pool are my two favorite scenes in the show

Yep....my jaw just about hit the floor when I saw what Gus was pretty much pulling off, moreso than "Face Off", which was shocking and almost just as brilliant.

Sundance has been replaying the series on Wednesday nights. They show 4 episodes in a row, starting at 8pm. I think they are at the end of season 2.

Dumbest tv series on TV. Started watching not too long ago Season 1 and 2 but had to stop because of Walt's irritating wife. The actress was completely miscast and appeared way too much.

Someone should make a video of "How Breaking Bad Should Have Ended". Walt accepts offer of his friend in first episode to pay for his cancer treatment, like 99% of the sane people out there would do if they couldn't afford it and didn't have other means to raise the money. But instead they make six seasons out of this dumb show, all based on a thoroughly unbelievable, non-nonsensical premise.

The world is bad enough as it is with drug addiction that it's producers didn't have to glorify meth and drug trafficking like they did. And I don't care how much Stephen King likes this series. He's wrong.

Don't worry, there's always a drama based on a hospital or law firm of Breaking Bad doesn't work for you.

Somebody explain to Tommy Tutone the difference between a TV series and a movie.

Yeah I also think writers need to stop with all the "creative" bullshit.

Don't get me started on the "Walking Dead." I loathe that show too.

The state of the world sums up those two shows: Meth addicts gearing up for the zombie apocalypse.

What happened to good shows like "Cheers"?

You should stick with it, best show on TV all time IMO. Skylar is an unbearable bitch, but she plays the part great..I was hoping she got killed.

Cheers was realistic, as long as people didn't work and didn't die of liver failure.

The next TV series that's realistic will be the first. Even "reality" TV is loads of fictional crap. It's not supposed to be realistic...it's entertainment.

We can disagree on Breaking Bad, but I'm with you on Walking Dead. I'm glad the show is popular but I don't get it at all.

Touché, my friend. I kind of walked into that one.

But as much as the show was about a bar, drinking ironically wasn't the focus. They might as well have been drinking lemonade.

Seriously, who didn't look forward back in the day to Thursday nights seeing Cheers and then Seinfeld?

That might have been the single greatest hour on television ever.

Diane in Cheers was just as annoying as Skylar White or her son.

Cheers was a great show. Diane was a necessary villain

I watched the first two breaking bad eps last night this might not be the best show for a re watch. A lot of it is contingent upon the surprising factor of Walt turning into what he turns into. Knowing what I already know it's just not the same watching goofy nervous Walt in the first season.

Still good. But, IMO, Sopranos and The Wire are better the second time.

I disagree. I did a rewatch and thought it was great.

Knowing how things turn out, I think you can appreciate the performances even more.

I'd say The Wire is a better rewatch but slightly. I thought The Sopranos seemed dated.

The sprawling casts of those shows make rewatches good. I didn't kknowthe history of Stringer Bell or Jackie Aprile the first time around. I'd guess Game of Thrones is similar.

Well see. Just had the Krazy 8 basement scene. Great acting there. Both guys.

DUMBEST. POST. EVER.

Just rewatched the whole series, I think I actually liked it better the second time cause I could appreciate the journey for each character that much more and all the clues that were given along the way.

The symbolism is even more pronounced than I thought on first viewing. Very meticulous in crafting the show. Good stuff.
