0-0

At least he's never lost one. Manning and Brady can't say that.

Both the HOFers credit a large part of their success and development to him.

That's true...Unfortunately for Jay, he might have to buy a ticket himself if the Bears don't put better guys around him next year and beyond.

Why not just go out and buy the 2008 Broncos season in review dvd and let the Bears find a way to create a Super Bowl quality team instead of an average team with no defense?

it's no secret that I want an offensive guy here either as hc or oc with a lot of power. Shanahan ignored the defense for the better part of those 10 years and I think that was denver's problem in the playoffs.

So you are ok with that plan of attack in Chicago?

The funny thing about Shanahan is that he only made the playoffs four years out of ten after the Super Bowl. That's 40%. Six teams out of 16 make the playoffs in each conference, or 37.5% But for three of those years there were only 15 teams in the AFC, which is 40%. In other words, he made the playoffs exactly as much as you would expect a team to make the playoffs completely at random.

Here's a good question. How many teams have went to a Super Bowl without having one offensive player that went on to make the HOF?

The 2006 Bears would qualify unless Olin Kruetz makes the HOF and I don't think he will. That Ravens team had Shannon Sharpe. He's going to the HOF.

You might be thinking the 1985 Patriots. I don't know about their O-line but they had Irving Fryer. He might make the HOF but probably not. So that's another answer.

Actually, Shannon Sharpe's mouth will be going to the Pro Football Hall of Fame...

I guess that Bucs team that won a few years ago might be another answer to my question. Unless they have somebody on the O-line. I can't think of any great O-line guys from that team.

Jury is still out on Eli. He could make it. Tiki won't. He's even failed at broadcating. NBC is slowly phasing him out when everybody thought he'd be a star. They make him do reports from stadiums now where he was once on the pregame show. He sucks at those stadiums reports. They should give those jobs to acutal reporters. Not a dumb jock.

Tiki retired before they won the Super Bowl.

I can't bring myself to get behind a new HC like Frazier, Bates, or Heimerdinger either. Even if some of these guys are considered retreads/not successful for 10 years/superbowl winners without doing anything I still prefer them.

I can still remember him and Keith Olbermann laughing at Eli after the Vikings game where Eli threw somthing like four interceptions. They were making cracks like "So, I guess it wasn't all your fault Tiki, huh?" That was after Tiki wrote his a**hole, self-serving book.

Oops.
