As for the coaches thing, all I've said is that I don't want any of those coaches. I'd still rather have Lovie than Billick or Holmgren. You all will too within six weeks. I'm completely agnostic as to Lovie vs Shanahan or Gruden. I don't like either of those coaches. And I've been completely consistent in saying that I don't think Lovie is a very good coach, and I've provided a list of coaches I'd rather have, including former head coaches and first time coaches. So untwist your panties.

You can just assume that I never said whatever was claimed, unless there's a quote to the contrary.

IB...Do you remember on two seperate occasions posting your opinion that Lovie Smith is a better head foootball coach than Gruden, Shanahan, Billick, or Holmgren? Really? I even gave you a chance to re-think it about two weeks ago & you reiterated your position.
I realize that you probably realized how silly it is to still think that Lovie is the preferred choice over the rest of the guys cited, but at least have the balls to admit it.

I just repeated myself two minutes ago, dumbass. My whole point is that I don't like any of those coaches.

My panties arent twisted. All I am trying to do is defend myself from you alleging that I have fabricated your posts regarding head coaches & Bears WR's. That's all.
As for Shanahan & Gruden, don't you think that either of these guys would be good for Cutler & the development of him & the Bears offense?

Gruden certainly has a long history of developing young quarterbacks.

As I've already said, I've provided a list of coaches I'd rather have at this point. Cowher, Schottenheimer, Harbaugh, even Ryan in Cleveland. That list is certainly non-exhaustive. Why are you so enamored with the discarded trash of other NFL organizations?

Since when did ESPN's Mike Tirico sport a baseball cap? :? I realize it was cold, but on a couple of occasions when cameras panned on Tirico, Ron Jaworski & Jon Gruden, I noticed Mike sporting a black baseball cap in the booth... I remember times when Chicago's own Brent Musburger sported a hat when he was broadcasting from cold weather sites over the years at CBS Sports, ABC Sports & ESPN, but nothing like the black cap Tirico wore.

Also, due to contractual obligations with WBBM Newsradio 780 and the Bears' Radio Network, we couldn't hear the Westwood One call of the game with Kevin Harlan & Boomer Esiason here in Chicago. I'd be very curious to hear how Kevin called Jay Cutler's 4th TD, the 39-yard game winner to Devin Aromashodu in OT to win it, compared to how WBBM's Jeff Joniak called it locally. Also, I wonder if Boomer, Westwood One's #1 analyst, took back what he said about Jay's leadership and body language during a recent chat with Mac & Spiegs on 670 The SCORE & 670thescore.com about a month ago.

Every coach in the NFL is someone elses "discarded trash". I am enamored with success.

Yes. He also has no history of developing quarterbacks, and absolutely hates having to bring younger players up to speed in his system.

Then you have no reason to want Shanny unless he is bringing John Elway and Terrell Davis with him.

I can't, but the feds might feel differently.

Chuck Noll is still alive. He has rings. Let's get him!

He did okay as OC for the 49ers. Steve Young credits him in his development.

Great. Kill 2 birds with one stone and hire him to replace Turner and Hamilton. 8)

Yep. He did more than OK. Shanny was the OC when Young won his SB in 1994. That was one of the greatest offenses ever. Then he went on to win 2 with the Broncos.

And what is the constant in both of those? He had HOF players, it is easy to look like a genius when you have Young, Rice, Elway & Davis. Since his HOF players retired, he has done nothing.

Mike Shanahan won one playoff game in his last ten years as Broncos head coach.

He took Jake Plummer's ass to the playoffs.

So getting to the playoffs and winning one time in the last 10 years is ok in your book?

Sorry it isn't in mine.

I know. I just wanted to say something. Nothing matters I guess. Coaches don't matter. It's all random luck at the end of the day if you have good players. Good teams meet in the playoffs and somebody wins and somebody loses. There is no rhyme or reason for any of it.

Man, I'm just realizing how awful these coaches did after their Super Bowl years.

Shanahan: one playoff win in 10 seasons.
Billick: one playoff win in seven seasons (zero in his last six).
Gruden: zero playoff wins in six seasons

For those of you keeping score, that's two playoff wins in 23 seasons between them.

I just continue to be amazed at the love for Shanny around here. People are ready to run Lovie out of town for missing the playoffs a few years in a row, yet they are wanting to hire a guy that has not won anything in the last 10 years. The only answer I have is that a lot of people have bought into the ESPN's hype of him being an offensive "genius".

It's like by old argument with Phil Jackson. If you cloned 32 Bill Belichicks, and gave those clones to all 32 NFL teams, there would be a Bill Belichick team in last place. 20 Bill Belichick teams wouldn't make the playoffs. And Bonnie Bernstein would be banged 32 times a night.

I think Bears fans think they are cheaper dates than they really are. Within two years, if the Bears hadn't won a playoff game yet, you'd start hearing murmurs. Yet 10 years with only one playoff win is perfectly OK.
