yeah, she nailed it in the moment with that observation.
Still think the best value Justin Fields offers the Bears might be to try to trade him this off-season. At least put it out there and then immediately emphatically deny it that the Bears are open to listening to offers for Fields.
Possibly some OC out there who thinks they could turn Fields into a playoff caliber QB. Only takes 2 teams bidding against each other to wrangle a 1st rounder+ out of em for Fields. You'd be looking at 3-14 again next season, but you're probably looking at something not much better than that with Fields. And then you're entering Fields final non-option year on his rookie deal and either having a running QB play his 4th year without a deal or cough up an extension. And at least that way you're picking high in each round throughout the draft for another year. And having 2 bites at the 1st round apple in one season down the road should produce a QB at least as competent as Fields, at least in the passing game (either one of the 1st rounders is high enough to draft a QB or you have the draft capital to move up and get the guy you want). And by then you've built out the lines and defense and key offensive positions around em and you have a QB on a cap-friendly deal for 4 years with a good team.
All depends on whether the Bears think Fields can eventually transition to a competent passing QB; or are his flaws as a drop back QB such that it's unlikely he's going to be able to stay on the field as a starter once the wheels fall off his running game.
This is just really hilarious. Fields has terrific skills as a quarterback. He doesn't have "flaws" in any aspect of it. They are all there. If anyone takes a look at the lack of "talent" in front of him and doesn't quickly decide that it is his lack of help surrounding him that is the problem, then they just do not understand football at all.
