Mrs. Claw walks in and sees a shot of Justin Fields staring out into space and says, "He looks like a guy that wants to enter the transfer portal", one of the best Bears takes I heard yesterday.

Watching the Steelers vs Ravens game last night was interesting because you saw smart NFL coaching.

The Bears should start every Justin Fields game with the exact same play, roll the pocket with the TE crossing at 5-7 yards, a WR crossing at 10-12 Yards, he should take the easy TE throw every time, it would get him into a rhythm run away from the incompetent players they have at C and G.

The passes to the backs which are a staple of the GB offense they are supposedly running, are completely missing from this offense? Is this because they don't trust the backs to catch the ball, or don't trust Fields to take the check down? There should be massive chunk plays available because teams are stacking the box, or designating a LB to spy Fields, they should be hitting the back in the flat all day long.

Lol, not so much about the team as about the look on his face when they showed him sitting by himself on the bench staring out into space late in the game, her take was purely a comment on the look on his face.

yeah, she nailed it in the moment with that observation.

Still think the best value Justin Fields offers the Bears might be to try to trade him this off-season. At least put it out there and then immediately emphatically deny it that the Bears are open to listening to offers for Fields.

Possibly some OC out there who thinks they could turn Fields into a playoff caliber QB. Only takes 2 teams bidding against each other to wrangle a 1st rounder+ out of em for Fields. You'd be looking at 3-14 again next season, but you're probably looking at something not much better than that with Fields. And then you're entering Fields final non-option year on his rookie deal and either having a running QB play his 4th year without a deal or cough up an extension. And at least that way you're picking high in each round throughout the draft for another year. And having 2 bites at the 1st round apple in one season down the road should produce a QB at least as competent as Fields, at least in the passing game (either one of the 1st rounders is high enough to draft a QB or you have the draft capital to move up and get the guy you want). And by then you've built out the lines and defense and key offensive positions around em and you have a QB on a cap-friendly deal for 4 years with a good team.

All depends on whether the Bears think Fields can eventually transition to a competent passing QB; or are his flaws as a drop back QB such that it's unlikely he's going to be able to stay on the field as a starter once the wheels fall off his running game.

He did have some different looks yesterday and appeared to be ready to pack it in for the offseason.

Definitely concerning from the guy who is supposed to be a leader and the future.

I'm sure Justin Fields dreaded being drafted by the Bears with their history of not cultivating any great quarterbacks, bad coaches and ownership who doesn't really want to win. If he demanded a trade like John Eleay when drafted by the Colts or Fields told the Bears pass on me before the draft his career would possibly take a better path.

Here's a great take on Fields:

Throw the fucking ball

This is just really hilarious. Fields has terrific skills as a quarterback. He doesn't have "flaws" in any aspect of it. They are all there. If anyone takes a look at the lack of "talent" in front of him and doesn't quickly decide that it is his lack of help surrounding him that is the problem, then they just do not understand football at all.

It's been posted a few times on here, detailed video breakdowns of Fields passing game. Besides holding the ball too long in general, Fields often doesn't throw to guys early enough (or at the right time) in their routes to have the ball arrive as they break open. Rather, Fields waits til they are open to throw by which point the defense recovers and breaks up the play. Fields still locks on to certain receivers/routes while other guys are standing wide open. Those are probably the main concerns folks identify reviewing Fields tape: hanging on to the ball too long, not throwing guys open and missing wide open receivers because he's locked onto a certain route and holding the ball too long waiting for that route to break open while some other receiver is wide open across the field, jumping up and down and waving their arms trying to get Fields' attention.

Yeah, when Fields does finally throw the ball, it's a good ball, a good throw, for sure. Problems lie in his decision making up to that point.

I think the team angle is incorrect. Fields hasn't been yelling at coaches or even players. He's upset with himself. It's why I love this guy. He's no Patrick Williams or Derrick rose. He's got Kobe heart.
