No, this isn't a Dr. Seuss reference, but a familiar voice will be on the call Sunday when the Bears visit the Bengals in Cincinnati. Yes, Bear fans, FOX Sports may have changed the start time of Sunday's game to 3:15p, but it doesn't mean you're be seeing & hearing Thom Brennaman, Troy Aikman & Pam Oliver on the call. Thom, pinch hitting for Joe Buck on ALCS & World Series duty, Troy & Pam have been commissioned to Arlington, TX to watch yet another Cowboys' game vs. Matt Ryan and the Falcons at the same time as the Bears & Bengals. By my math, it'll be their third game involving the Cowboys this season.
Instead, Ed Goren, David Hill and FOX Sports are sending the man who called 3 of the 4 preseason games in August on FOX32 & the Chicago Bears' Television Network. Yes, Sam Rosen & another former Bear, Tim Ryan, have been commissioned to call Sunday's road game at Paul Brown Stadium, according to awfulannouncing.com. It's unclear if FOX Sports Net's Laura Okmin will be covering the tabs on the sidelines.
I refuse to watch any Cowboys game that Troy Aikman and Joe Buck are a part of. Its getting ridiculous. I think its fair to say that they are no longer Fox's primary crew. Instead, they are their Cowboy crew and someone else is their primary crew.
BD, it is a bummer and a letdown. When it was announced that FOX Sports & the NFL was going to change the start time for Sunday's Bears/Bengals' game, the school of thought was that the network was going to send its "A Team" to Cincinnati. No dice. FOX's #2 crew, Kenny Albert, Daryl "Moose" Johnston & Tony Siragusa, are headed to Pittsburgh Sunday for a pretty good first game of its doubleheader between the Vikings & Steelers that'll be the ideal appetizer to our game.
As for Joe, Troy & Pam Oliver, they are still FOX's #1 broadcast team, regardless of the fact the Falcons/Cowboys' game in Arlington, TX Sunday will be their third game involving "America's Team" this season. This even though Thom Brennaman will be calling the game in place of Joe this and next Sunday while Buck and his big head are on World Series duty. It doesn't seem fair. It could be worse, BD. There could be a Chris Myers/Trent Green game down the line if the Bears continue to lose.
