No, this isn't a Dr. Seuss reference, but a familiar voice will be on the call Sunday when the Bears visit the Bengals in Cincinnati. Yes, Bear fans, FOX Sports may have changed the start time of Sunday's game to 3:15p, but it doesn't mean you're be seeing & hearing Thom Brennaman, Troy Aikman & Pam Oliver on the call. Thom, pinch hitting for Joe Buck on ALCS & World Series duty, Troy & Pam have been commissioned to Arlington, TX to watch yet another Cowboys' game vs. Matt Ryan and the Falcons at the same time as the Bears & Bengals. By my math, it'll be their third game involving the Cowboys this season.

Instead, Ed Goren, David Hill and FOX Sports are sending the man who called 3 of the 4 preseason games in August on FOX32 & the Chicago Bears' Television Network. Yes, Sam Rosen & another former Bear, Tim Ryan, have been commissioned to call Sunday's road game at Paul Brown Stadium, according to awfulannouncing.com. It's unclear if FOX Sports Net's Laura Okmin will be covering the tabs on the sidelines.

I bet we get even worse when CBS Sports, Doug, has the game next Sunday vs. the Kevin James-looking Eric Mangini and the Browns on the Lakefront. Don Criqui & Randy Cross? Gus Johnson & former Northwestern-er Steve Tasker? Kevin Harlan & Solomon Wilcots? Bill Macatee & Steve Beuerlein?

In fact, it was exactly a Dr. Seuss reference. Now, if you had used "I am Sam" it would not have been a reference to Dr. Seuss but to America-hating commie Sean Penn.

Boilermaker Rick, that was just the title of this thread. I'm going out on a limb to predict who we'll get next Sunday when the Bears host the Browns at Soldier Field. Because it's a CBS Sports' game, I predict we'll get Kevin Harlan & Solomon Wilcots next Sunday for the 12Noon kickoff. It makes sense in part because Kevin will likely be in Chicago late next week anyway. Let's not forget Kevin is one of the primary voices of Turner/TNT Sports' NBA coverage, and of course, the Bulls tipoff the 2009-10 season next Thursday night vs. the Spurs at United Center. Don't be shocked if Kevin, Doug Collins & David Aldridge are here a week from tomorrow, Rick, for the Bulls' opener on their favorite cable channel, and the one that "Knows Drama".

I refuse to watch any Cowboys game that Troy Aikman and Joe Buck are a part of. Its getting ridiculous. I think its fair to say that they are no longer Fox's primary crew. Instead, they are their Cowboy crew and someone else is their primary crew.

BD, it is a bummer and a letdown. When it was announced that FOX Sports & the NFL was going to change the start time for Sunday's Bears/Bengals' game, the school of thought was that the network was going to send its "A Team" to Cincinnati. No dice. FOX's #2 crew, Kenny Albert, Daryl "Moose" Johnston & Tony Siragusa, are headed to Pittsburgh Sunday for a pretty good first game of its doubleheader between the Vikings & Steelers that'll be the ideal appetizer to our game.

As for Joe, Troy & Pam Oliver, they are still FOX's #1 broadcast team, regardless of the fact the Falcons/Cowboys' game in Arlington, TX Sunday will be their third game involving "America's Team" this season. This even though Thom Brennaman will be calling the game in place of Joe this and next Sunday while Buck and his big head are on World Series duty. It doesn't seem fair. It could be worse, BD. There could be a Chris Myers/Trent Green game down the line if the Bears continue to lose.

I thought SHARK was referencing the band from the bay area. Who knew SHARK was a closet fan of the punk scene? I saw them almost 15 years ago - were you there when I was SHARK? Were you backstage???? Did you bring your board?

Interesting. So it is like baseball having a hometown crew calling the game. I would prefer to get almost any local broadcast team over Chip Caray and company. I don't know if I have a problem with it because the possibility of better insight into one of the two team's players and their play would enhance the broadcast over someone who knows very little about either. When I have heard Troy covering the Cowboys he doesn't seem to be too big a homer, but maybe I am wrong.

Beni Hanna, let me also remind you that Daryl "Moose" Johnston is also a former Cowboy fullback, and worked the team's preseason games down in "Big D". I don't know if "Moose" has that much more of a bias whenever he, Kenny Albert & Tony Siragusa are assigned to cover a Cowboy game themselves to a large audience on FOX.
