I hated him when he was on Dallas popping up and throwing the first down sign when his team was getting their ass kicked all year. I would have been happier with nothing.

A lot of this depends on what Roy makes. If it isn't much, I think the upside of him coming close to what he did in Detroit with Martz is worth it.

He is a big WR, which I think the Bears need. Hopefully the motivation is there, because it didn't seem like it was in Dallas.

The big thing is Spaeth going downfield. Have no idea why I watched so much of this guy but he didnt make many catches and granted Heath Miller was the primary guy, but 17 catches was his high in 2008, his rookie year. Since then been single digits.

Overall, will say the WR's are better, just not by much.

He still won't make any catches, he'll do what Manumaleuna couldn't. I think what he meant was, will the improved blocking of Spaeth over Olsen, be worth the difference in receiving between Roy and Olsen/Sheed.

I am going to need a new TV before the season is out because I can guarantee that I will throw the remote thru the screen after Williams pops up and does the first down signal while down 38-10 in the 4th qtr to the Packers.

This move is a bullshit Martz signing again. Why they are letting a guy with one foot out the door make personnel decisions is beyond me...

All that being said, he is now the best WR on the team. How fucking sad is that?

I think it's a good chance to take. He doesn't have to be that good to overtake the overrated Johnny Knox and he's clearly going to be an upgrade over whoever else they were planning on throwing out there. Williams, Knox, and Hester as the third receiver gives Jay some good options.

It's a desperation move by a team that has really messed up the position but it's a good move.

If you think Plexico Burress would be a better signing you are just batshit insane. He is going to be 34 when the season starts and has been out of football for two years.

Braylon Edwards and Roy Williams are remarkably similar in most ways. If Williams costs less because he wasn't drafted fourth overall and because he didn't have a handful of huge games with Derek Anderson against the Cincinnati Bengals, then Williams is the right signing.

I sort of agree with DT. The WR spot on the bears is so bad that of course he'll help. But he won't be anything close to great or a game changer. In no way does he come close to solving the Bears WR problems going forward

What? I've watched Sims Walker, as I'm sure most have. He's a better player than Roy. Thats why Bears fans want him more. Pretty clear cut
