Good thing 4chan waited for all the facts before unleashing their psycho brand of internet justice.
They're known for being totally fair and normal.
CNN never even released that fact, the fact only came out last night from Kaczynski's former editor at Buzzfeed (who I'm guessing Kaczynski used as a proxy here).
CNN is still hanging him out before the fire here. Blame them for creating the situation. CNN could've cleared this up by not adding the line or saying an editor added it that night.
Which line was added by an executive/editor? Because even with out the "CNN reserves the right to..." line, the decision to not name the GIF maker was still painted as conditional on HAS's apology and promise not to do it again. The second line just made explicit what was implied in the first line. So OK, some executive added the second line in a buffoonish attempt to make clear that CNN's decision to not reveal the dude's identity was solely their decision, and not an agreement between the two parties. If Kaczynski wrote that first part, he still heavily implied that HAS's anonymity was conditional on his apology and recanting his other bigoted stuff.
