No, those songs have the most musicality.
Hard most of the time does not equate to good music.
Communication Breakdown is rudimentary.
Jimmy Page was a wiccan. How do you justify your passion for Led Zeppelin when their creative lead was a cultist and possible satanist?
Well, he also happens to be probably the greatest guitarist that ever lived. This thread is about putting forth your views of their best songs.
I can separate Page's musicianship from whatever religious orientation he has. But if you want to talk about that, I never said he was a saint. Page wasn't the only musician from the 60s and 70s that dabbled in the occult. The Beatles read Aleister Crowley, as did Page. In fact, how the Beatles posed on the cover of "Help" comes from Crowley's "Magic: In Theory and Practice", which most people don't even know. The Stones, too, were like this with their album, "Their Satanic Majesties Request." featuring Mick Jagger dressed as a wizard. I think all these musicians fancied themselves as magicians, and that is what Page went for, too, tapping into his inner genius to fuel his creativity. But he envisioned himself as "The Hermit" of the Tarot, which is an enlightened spiritual figure. It encapsulates the archetypes of both beauty (Tipereth) and mercy or lovingkindness (Chesed) in human form. The illustration of "The Hermit" is similar to the "Light of the World" painting by Hunt, which portrays Jesus.
