Hey at least he saved his body by not having those meanies from the Steelers using him like a plow horse this year .

Does he get tagged as the product of a system now? I mean what many called a random replacement guy earlier in the year will have just as good of a year as Bell did last year.

I don't think so. His body of work is large enough where I think he gets docked a bit for how well Conner is doing, but I think he'll still get around $20-25 million guaranteed.

Bears need a RB now that Jordan Howard lost all his talent Space Jam style. Cohen's a gadget player.

I dont think he made the right move, but what your saying doesn't really make sense. He could have had a career ending injury on his first carry this season and only get this years money. He'll definitely get more in guaranteed money than he was slated to make for this one year.

I’m guessing whatever insurance policy he had dealing with a career ending injury on his first carry was more than what he was slated to make this year as well.

I dont know about that. I think they are usually a little smaller, but either way, he'll almost certainly make more in his next deal than he would have just this season.

Even if you are absolutely correct he still missed an earning year and 15M or whatever. Whatever though it is his life and he has an agent to guide him.

He may have extended his career a year though.

I suppose. Depends on the signing bonus if any. Also, he will have to find a loophole to get away from the Steelers.

The signing bonus is the guaranteed money. If it's less than 30 million guaranteed (probably will be) it was a bad decision by Bell. If it's more than that it was a good decision.

There's no loophole he needs to get away from Pitt. They aren't signing him to a QB franchise tag next season.

They can still transition rather than franchise.

I'm just glad he's not making a penny, I wouldn't sign him. Backs are easy to find, Pittsburgh found one week one. I'd love to see him get a weak ads contract after this, not many teams are gonna buck up that much cap space for a RB.

Next year Bell and his agent will be screaming COLLUSION when this mega offer never materializes.

Conner having a good year (better than Bell's 2017) really fucked up Bell's plans.

It'd be nice to see him take Gronk's wasted cap space and hear the complaining begin.

I don't think he's going there. Michel looks good(if he can stay healthy) and they invested a high pick on him.

If I had to guess I would say he's going to the Texans or Jets.

I'm pulling for the Bears to win it all, it wouldn't break my heart if this dipshit pulled a Todd Bell and missed a SB ring though.

Jets might be dumb enough to do it, Houston no way. They will draft a back.

Houston makes the most sense out of any contending team. Jets make the most sense in like you said they are dumb and will probably offer the most money so they can be "relevant" again for a day or two in the offseason.

Actually the perfect place for him is the Bears.

I trust Pace to draft a RB that he doesn't have to immediately give a $100M contract to.

I agree with you, I'd just love to see what he could put up there, AND with Michel still getting a lot of time where Bell gets flexed out.

Bell won't get half that and probably isn't looking for much more than half that. I'm guessing he gets something like 3 years, $42-44M, $25M guaranteed

Bell isn't coming to Chicago. Bears have to pay Callahan, and I have no desire to throw a bank vault at a guy that was so easily replaced by James Conner.

How many big CB contracts end up being worth it? Less than 10%?

Overpaying corners is one of the worst decisions a franchise can make. I just looked up several 'worst NFL contracts ever' lists...so many of them are corners.

Callahan is a nickel back a very valued position in today's NFL. Texans dont' regret paying Honey Badger.

Agreed. There are some injury concerns but there aren't many better than him. I would love to have him back but at the right price
