When we look back at Kerr's basketball history what will we say. Is this a guy who always seemed to find himself in the right spot at the right time? His tenure running the Suns didn't pan out, but now having won a championship as a coach as well as five as a player, is Steve Kerr, dare I say, a Hall of Famer?

Don't laugh, the basketball hall has different guidelines when it comes to accepting new members. I think he gets in, especially if he wins one more out there in the Bay area.

having micheal jordan and steven curry fall in his lap didnt hurt his career... that said the guy was a great shooter and is extremely intelligent and deserves his success.

No doubt, right place, right time.

He didnt have a scholarship offer until right before School started, Lute had one at Az because one of his recruits didnt show up. Kerr got the call.

And I sure hope he gets into the HOF, as I still am the guy who replaced him at 1st base for his lack of power production.

As a player, no doubt... part of the Suns thing was that he was a part owner, so it is hard for me to fault him for making that move, and maybe at the time among the people they had in that group, he made the most sense as a GM. Given that he had several offers open every year while he was back in his 2nd stint at TNT, I have to give him credit for waiting until the "right" offer came along. Again, how much credit you give a coach in any sport is really up for debate, however, in basketball and hockey, I think the grind can get to players a little more than the other sports, so managing the bench is pretty important. I'm hard pressed to put him in as a hall of famer as a player; I'm hard pressed to put him in as an exec; and I'm hard pressed to put him in as an analyst. He might be the kind of person the "lifetime" award is made for.
