As a player, no doubt... part of the Suns thing was that he was a part owner, so it is hard for me to fault him for making that move, and maybe at the time among the people they had in that group, he made the most sense as a GM. Given that he had several offers open every year while he was back in his 2nd stint at TNT, I have to give him credit for waiting until the "right" offer came along. Again, how much credit you give a coach in any sport is really up for debate, however, in basketball and hockey, I think the grind can get to players a little more than the other sports, so managing the bench is pretty important. I'm hard pressed to put him in as a hall of famer as a player; I'm hard pressed to put him in as an exec; and I'm hard pressed to put him in as an analyst. He might be the kind of person the "lifetime" award is made for.
