Mike just said he made the decision not to have Annie come to Miami next week because it gets weird down there (I'm assuming he means at Super Bowl remotes), and doesn't want her to be a 3rd or 4th wheel.

Doesn't your sports show include Annie ?

I would think the week leading into the SuperBowl would be a great opportunity for you to showcase your show, given the buildup for the game, and you don't think your listeners would want to hear Annie's opinions on the game ?

Could it be that Mike actually agrees with us on the board - that Annie doesn't have a clue about sports ??

He shoves her down our throats for what--two years now?--and tells us what an integral part of the show she is and how glad he was that he reinstated her from her little "exile" to news-only a few months ago and blah, blah, blah, so now we come to one of the biggest events in the Score's history, a remote from the scene of a Bears Super Bowl, and he makes the decision to leave her behind?

I'll say this for Mike North: he never ceases to amaze me.

I've got two words that were the impetus for this decision: Haitian hookers.

Could you imagine an "Anchorman" type scenario in which other sports radio morning shows mock North and Fred for having a tranny on their show?

It's obviously the right move not to bring her. But think how bad this looks for them. A key component for the show can't go to the Super Bowl. Right off the heels of an extention? Plus the last time they extended her they banned her from the show for others to try out. How stupid does this make Score mangagement look?

If you brought her she'd just sit there and knit. Or breast feed her adult son or something while Mike interviewed 85 Bears.

Is a SIX-MONTH deal common in radioland? (I wouldn't know. I'm just a fan talking to fans. Never been in a press box, heh-heh.) Could it be a way to just to (a) throw a little something her way to shut her up and make up for leaving her behind as practically the whole rest of the station heads down to Miami, and (b) keep her on board until a revamping of the morning show is in place and ready to go and then they launch her?

I think it's no doubt is the right move - I'm actually looking forward to the show next week without her.

Saying that, Mike needs to make up his mind on whether she's part of the show or not.

Obviously, she shouldn't be on the show, but Mike has said she's a great talent, but he seems to be agreeing with me (and others) by not sending her to Miami obviously because she doesn't have any sports knowledge in what would be a great time for Mike to draw in new listeners who are excited about the Bears, but maybe don't listen to sports radio.

She'll still be on from the studio, won't she? Doing weather and big news stories like what were the biggest-grossing films of the week? Or has her role been scrapped completely and she's given Super Bowl week off?

Not sure about that, but even if she had that role, it would be about 2 minutes of air time per hour.

Unless there are technical difficulties with the Miami remote and then you get All-Annie radio, talkin' sports.

But, the Score hardly ever has technical problems with their remotes.

I would hate to hear what Annie would talk about if she had to do a show solo for a few segments.....

They probably would have some one else in the building take calls before she gets the solo act.

Really? I would love to hear that. That would be "must-listen" radio for me.

If North really thinks she belongs on a sports station that would be the "make or break" moment to show what she knows and I think we all know what would happen.

Compared to Mike, Anne comes off semi intelligent, but I have never been impressed with her general knowledge. Her additions are stating the obvious or pointing out both sides of an issue.

Annie has a very difficult time of supporting many of her positions.

The show sounds as good as ever without her.

6 month extension. Nice. What a joke.

All week North has been trying to talk to her and she cant hear him.
