Completely ridiculous, there is no reason why they should be losing to Northern Iowa, Colorado, and Penn St. I have thought all along the fans would be pretty patient with Crean considering what he inherited, but if losses to these type of teams continue things are going to change quickly for him.

Get a nice victory over Michigan on Saturday and yet lose Creek for the rest of the season, again.

1 step forward 2 steps back.

That really sucks. He just seems cursed. He looked like he had lost a lot of physical ability from the last injury. It was actually the other leg though this time.

I hope he can return and play well next year.

I wonder if Bobby Knight ever celebrated like that after a 3 point victory at home against a .500 conference opponent. Sad days for the Hoosiers.

Funny gd. I would think the sad day is for the Illini, losing to a team that has been AWFUL this year losing to Northern Iowa, Colorado, and Iowa.

You know my thoughts on it. I fully believe that game was as fixed as a MAC Thursday night football game.

While true, I was on the right side of some things that looked very questionable during bowl season, including Louisville v. Southern Miss.

Lost again to Iowa, this time at home, but this has to be one of the best IU highlight dunks in a long time.

The end was even better. Just seeing Crean sit there like McCaffrey walked over an shot his dog was the best.

Tom Crean's 2012 recruiting class continues to get better with the word that Jeremy Hollowell committing to IU

Quote:
Hollowell, who ranks No. 23 by Scout.com and No. 39 by Rivals.com in the 2012 class nationally, joins four other players – Hanner Perea of LaPorte’s La Lumiere Academy (No. 10), Yogi Ferrell of Park Tudor (No. 17), Broad Ripple’s Ron Patterson (No. 78), and Peter Jurkin of United Faith Christian Academy in Charlotte, N.C. (No. 137) – ranked in the top 150 by Rivals.

Evan Daniels, a national recruiting expert for Scout.com, called Crean’s recruiting momentum “very impressive.” Indiana has signed Washington’s Cody Zeller and Hamilton Heights’ Austin Etherington in the 2011 class

Asked specifically about the 2012 class, Daniels said the Hoosiers are a “clear-cut No. 1” in Scout.com’s team recruiting rankings. Villanova, Duke and Louisville are in the running for No. 2.“It’s probably not even close,” Daniels said. “There’s a little bit of everything, from a dynamic point guard to scoring wings to big
guys. That’s a terrific class. Hats off to Tom Crean for putting that class together.”

8) 8)

Now he just has to do something with these recruits. I am about done giving him a pass for having to deal with the turd sandwich he walked in to.

I think everyone is about done giving him a pass. There should be a lot of improvement in this team the next 2 years or Crean is in trouble.

Now, Hank, how can you a fellow IU guy vote against me in the tourney? 8)

It looks like this one is at the expense of Christian Watford, which will hurt next year.

The Big Ten is reloading again. Let's hope that it's a little more impressive than this year was where pretty much every team but OSU were disappointing.

No. It's still speculation. He almost left last year and it's never a good sign when those rumors come out again.

Oh I know, I been reading them as well. Just curious if I had missed something that you had seen. I highly doubt he is back next year. Honestly, I don't think Crean wants him back. I don't think they get a long very well. So even though he is a talented player, it might be addition by subtraction if he was a problem or a distraction to the rest of the team. It seemed at times they played better without him on the court.

He's a strange case. I think he's actually gotten worse since getting to Indiana. I thought he could be a Hummel type player and instead he's pretty ineffective while putting up decent statistics.

Two people have to be gone by 2012 to make room for the new recruits so it will be someone. He seems logical and Crean knows that he's not getting fired with that class coming in so he can just let Watford walk without caring too much.

I actually read some idiot yesterday that said Crean should be fired for the last 2 years. While I have been disappointed there has not been more improvement there is no way Crean gets fired (or should be) before the 2012 class arrives. That is his make it or break it class. With Zeller and the '12 guys they have a shot to be REAL good. But if Crean messes that up then he should be run out of town faster than Tall Midget can come up with a fancy big word to insult Weber and hack off Dr. Ken.

I would think Crean needs to show improvement this year or there should be some heavy scrutiny...and by improvement, I don't mean a single win against ILL in Bloomington(and 2 losses to Iowa  ). I'm talking a seed 5-7 finish in the Big Ten and a record over .500. You can't keep being in the basement at IU and expect people to give you a pass.

2012 is being hyped as a Calipari-like class.

It will happen fast for him though. I have a feeling that a Sweet Sixteen in 2012 is the only way IU fans will be satisfied.
