With losing Hardy, Hudson, and Harris, that was a move the Twins had to make.

They always seem to pull guys out their farm system to do the job, but this offseason so far has been incredibly unimpressive.

Blue Jays signed RHP Jon Rauch to a 1yr/$3.5M deal with a $3.75 million option for 2013.

The Twins lose another member of the bullpen. That's 7 regulars gone from last years team and no significant additions. Rough off season for the Twins even if the reports saying they will resign Pavano on Wed are true.

Twins and RHP Matt Capps avoided arbitration Tuesday by agreeing to a one-year, $7.15M contract.

Wow. I guess we know why the Twins let more than half of their bullpen and infield go this off season. Nathan is earning $11.25M so they're paying $18.4M for two bullpen guys. The Sox are paying $11.6M for the entire bullpen (Crain $4M, Thornton $3M, Pena $1.6M, Ohman $1.5M, Santos $.5M, Infante $.5M and Sale $.5M). That's a shit-ton of money to spend on the bullpen for a team that isn't in a big market.

Twins signed RHP Carl Pavano to a 2yr/$16.5 million contract.

What the hell took so long? This is probably the best a 35 yr old with an extensive injury history could do. Bringing Pavano back isn't exactly the upgrade to the rotation this team needs.

Pavano was looking for a 3rd year somewhere. At one point, the Nats were reportedly in talks but they must have broke down.

There's a report out saying the Twins are open to trading Francisco Liriano. His asking price on an extension is too high (what happened to all that money??) so they may cut ties with their ace sooner rather than later. The Twins could get quite a haul of young players for the 27 yr old but the last thing this team needs is to lose it's only potentially dominating starting pitcher.

Padres claimed RHP Pat Neshek off waivers from Twins.

Neshek was injured for most of last season and the Twins were counting on him to come back healthy to fill one of the many holes in the bullpen. His velocity was way down so they decided to cut ties with side-armed righty. Not a bad gamble by the Padres to give him a shot.

The Minnesota Twins have won the bidding for the rights to negotiate with Japanese infielder Tsyuoshi Nishioka. The winning bid was estimated to be around $5.3 million. The Twins have 30 days to work out a deal.

Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that Nishioka has a fractured fibula and (obviously) is headed for the disabled list. At minimum he’ll be out for a month and possibly much longer. As expected, Hughes is coming up from Triple-A to replace him.

The Sox aren't the only team with bullpen problems. The 4-8 Twins blew 2 saves tonight. Nathan burped up a 2 run lead in the 9th then Rapps burped up a 1 run lead in the 10th.

Twins placed C Joe Mauer on the 15-day disabled list with bilateral leg weakness.

When it rains it pours.

Nathan burped up another one. Couldn't hold a 1 run lead this time. Twins lose 4-3.

Twins are terrible this year. I do not see them doing anything.

This is true. But Keysers continual reminder of the terrible Twins offseason was with the idea that the White Sox would be the benefactors and be sitting in the place of the Indians right now. So far that was not been the case. But maybe the Indians and Sox will switch roles soon.

No doubt the Sox have struggled and made their own bed for the most part, but you were probably the most vocal guy who kept pointing out that "Hey the Twins had the worst offseason in the history of baseball," and now its showing. They are bad. Bad bad bad.

Twins place Jim Thome and Jason Kubel on disabled list.

The hits just keep on coming. Well.....at least off the field they keep on coming.

The 'Dynasty' Twins won their last 2 games and finished the year 63-99 narrowly avoiding a 100 loss season. The Dynasty doesn't look to get back on track next year either.

They have gotten away from their template of good starting pitching, excellent relief pitching and mistake free fielding.

They will have the #2 pick in the draft.

True, but come on, what is more fun than celebrating like you JUST WON THE SERIES after your SIXTY-THIRD and final victory of the year?
