I read the mixed to horrible reviews and still decided to check it out.
I usually take critics views of "middle class white guy" comedies with a grain of salt.
Old School comes to mind....see rottentomatoes.com.

I love Vince Vaughn and Kevin James is funny in small doses, but this movie is so dark that I have to agree with the critics I usually dismiss. There's some funny parts and Chicago is shown off well, but I wouldn't waste your time or money.
