Hey Pappy, to avoid hearing things going on behind the scenes at the BK , may I suggest the drive thur next time ?

I DON'T hear what's going on at the BK; that's the point. I just get my order without knowing that the manager may have said something at a meeting that morning that may have hurt the french-fry maker's feelings.

If ALL of the topics mentioned above are so boring to all of you, then I don't know why you're listening to sports radio. Everybody rips North for not talking sports, but now everything from baseball to Bulls to Super Bowl is not worth hearing about? Apparently, you'd rather hear about workplace attitudes at WMVP. If all the topics are stale, it's the job of our intrepid, highly-paid hosts to come up with either new sports topics or twists on the old ones to hold our interest. Imagine if you had to make a presentation to clients of your firm about the product or service that your firm sells and you ran out of things to say, so you lapsed into a thing about how attitude is bad at your company and that's why your products aren't quite up to par and your managers are micromanaging . . . think your clients should hear that?

and re-racking the re-rack can be quite unattractive too..

I think Pappy is Harry. Evidence the metaphor about BK.

Ryan-
I am grateful you listen as much as you do... and post as regularly as you do.... and care about the product as much as you do.... BUT....I've stated several times here: the re-racks are for those who don't consume the volume of programming you do. An extremely high percentage of listeners who check in at 6:20 did not hear Dent at 3:40. I can't apolojai for giving THEM a seven minute pop with the MVP of SB XX... on the anniversary of said Super Bowl. Hope you understand... and subsequently stop complaining about it. If you heard it already... give Wolfmother another spin and come back to us after two tracks.

No, I'm not Harry and let the record show, I just said " a hamburger" in my initial post. In responding to me on air, Mac introduced the term "Whopper" and I went along with the BK analogy.

Have a good weekend, one and all--you too, Mac. All of us here obviously share a passion for sports and sports radio. We're entitled to disagree on content now and then.

Bring back the "Whaler" and the "Yumbo" sandwhich from BK . I also loved the Sloppy burger from "Dog N Suds" back in the day .

In and Out burger out West and Jack in the Box should be in Chicago as well .

I thought the rant was one of the best bits of radio I've heard in a while. I personally love hearing about that stuff, and I loved listening to Howard for all that too.

And I had a beef with that one caller saying "cry me a river" saying if you don't like it, go own a radio station.

not everyone can own a business. and it shouldn't have to take owning a business to get respect or a somewhat peaceful work environment. i'm sick of this capitalist-crazed deregulated philosophy that's going on here--this is what started unions for God's sake. Treat your damn employees with respect and realize that people that work hard deserve to have some dignity. All you get now are people who are tired of being pushed around by their bosses, so they go and own a business so they can push their people around because that's what their boss did to them. Great system.

Not to say that's necessarily what Mac was talking about--it was just when people start saying garbage like "If you don't like it, leave!", it just makes me think...you know maybe some people who gripe have a *point*.

Great now I'm probably sounding like an idiot...oy. I need a drink...

RE: re-racks....

At least MJH doesn't "re-rack" interviews for the following three shows (like a certain other soon-to-be-cancelled show....).

Mmmm, Mac, did you see the memo on expenses? And uhhh, I guess we should go ahead and have a little talk, ummmKK. Yeaaah, we're going to have to limit you to $200/day on steakhouses in Miami, mmmmKK. Yeaahhh. You'll have to talk to payroll about that and next Friday is Hawaiian shirt day. And don't forget the cover sheets on the GPS reports, mmmmKK. Any questions?

They're going to need the GPS report to find the hotel after the steakhouse if my guess is correct.

Mac -
Just noticed you replied to the Richard Dent re-rack sarcasm. And my last sentence was in refernce to your little moment about the workplace. Just having some fun. I'm full aware of the purpose of a re-rack and have no problem with it. I just thought Richard Dent wasn't all that entertaining or interesting in his interview. Don't worry. I pulled out the best of Huey Lewis and the News hit up "Workin' for a Livin" and "Heart and Soul."

Mac: You still like me, right? (tee hee) I mean, UR like the greatest host on the radio...and I really appreciate all your honesty 'n' candor in speaking to us common folk. Every time I see that "MAC" posted here, it makes me feel like a giddy schoolgirl! (tee hee) Can we just be buds and forget about the whole "re-rack" thing? I mean, I wuz just kidding, I would never try to tell a great genius like you how to do their job. (tee hee)

Love, WR

Don't really think it came off like that. I even said the interview was uninteresting. I also said I obviously know what a re-rack's purpose is. Not for sure where the suck up is coming into play at....Maybe the fact that Mac couldn't recognize a joke?

I believe it's spelled Luv, WR with a smiley mug instead of a period.

Perhaps it should be Wuv, WR

Let the bombarding begin ..

Peyton Manning Dies.. When he got to heaven God showed him around a bit. They finally reached a small one story house with a faded Colts flag in the window. God said to Peyton "Your lucky. Not everyone gets a house up here." Peyton looked nextdoor and saw a mansion with a blue and orange sidewalk, a Bears flag and Bears logos. "Im not trying to be ungreatful."Said Peyton' But why does Rex Grossman get a bigger house than me"? God laughed.."That's not Rex's house. That's my house"

Let the pounding begin ..Nacho Boy .

Ha, nice joke thats been around for years with "insert player of the time here." Only problem is I don't see Peyton mistaking that house for Rex's. Maybe Urlacher's, but Rex's wouldn't even cross his mind! Ha!
