A little preemptive but it'll be aired on Feb 27th. The hosts?

James Franco. And Anne Hathaway.

What. the fuck.

This has the makings of possibly the worst AA of all time. I know the past few years have been bad but some of the movies were good. There are slim pickins this year, on top of the fact that the hosts just have no appeal at all. I know the Academy is full of old stiffs but seriously if you're gonna go young, just let Justin Timberlake host for God's sake. they probably think he's too "MTV" but he is probably the best option at this point.

Award shows suck. Will there be anything good on that night?

Ricky Gervais was awesome on whatever awards show he hosted last year

Didn't NPH host a show last year too?

I think Franco will be great but Hathaway not so much. I'm almost surprised that it wasn't Betty White and Ted Williams this year...

He's on the Golden Globes tonight and vowed to make sure they don't invite him back next year.

That should be hilarious.

motherfucking bump. goddamn this is retarded. i'm pretty sure i know the big winners. this is such a joke:

best picture - "the social network"
best director - david fincher, TSN
best original screenplay - nolan, "Inception"
best adapted - aaron soreass, TSN
best actor - colin firth, "the king's speech"
best actress - natalie portman, "black swan"
best supporting actor - christian bale, "the fighter"
best supporting actress, melissa leo, "the fighter"

here's what is a joke: "inception" being nominated for best picture among *9* fucking other movies...jesus christ. and i'm pretty sure TSN is going to sweep, which is also annoying.

i may be wrong about a few of the actor winners but i'm almost confident "the social network" is going to win big. in my mind it'd be the worst best picture, possibly of all time.

So is there going to be a Facebook Page drumming up more support for TSN?

W_Z,
You are correct. I think I posted my review of that piece of shit. The movie does not move forward and the main characters are very unlikeable. Nice Combo.

I hate to say this but a movie about a rich Jewish kid who is also smart is going to get noticed in most Hollywood circles. I'm not sayin',I'm just sayin!

I hate to say it, but I think I'd rather have Billy Crystal back.

Even has been Dana Carvey would be better.

The Oscar is one of the all-time great "bad" movies.

Just say NOlan. Inception = major hype job bullshit movie. It would have been better if Sean Penn gave Leo DeCaprio a shirt at the end that said 'I got drugged and left for dead in Mexico and all I got was this stupid tshirt'. A spinning dradle? Really?

Worst ever WZ? I'm surprised a cinephile such as yourself would make such a statement. I can think of a few Best Picture winners in recent memory that were self-congratulating claptrap and utter bilge. Million Dollar Baby, Chicago, Titanic, Shakespeare in Love and The English Patient come to mind. I haven't seen TSN but is it really worse than those?

I had no interest in seeing that movie until reading this comment. I need another reason to hate Aaron Sorkin. Awful.

Eaglo, I'm not sure what Dana Carvey's been up to lately, but it's got to be one of the toughest jobs in all of Hollywood, hosting the Oscars. Producers seem to think that having Anne Hathaway & James Franco co-host the Oscar telecast February 27th on ABC will attract younger viewers on Oscar night and keep the event moving. It's probably nothing more than a change of pace.

Anne Hathaway could be dancing naked with sparklers sticking out of certain places, and I probably still wouldn't watch the Oscars. Although, that may cause me to flip over to them for a moment.

Award shows as a whole, suck. By definition, they are a bunch of uptight, industry types who take themselves way too seriously taking turns sucking each other's collective cocks.

If a movie is nominated, or wins an award, does it increase the likelyhood that I would actually see it? No. My movie picks are determined by the basic plot outline that I can find, which helps me determine if I care enough to see it in the first place.

If they said at some point Natalie Portman would motorboat Anne Hathaway's boobies, I'd watch the whole thing.

Rented "The Ghost Writer" this weekend and I am pretty surprised that it was not
nominated in any category. I found this movie to be one of the better ones I have
seen in a few years, very well written and a couple of twists at the end which left
me pretty surprised.
