So Ranger was it really as bad as it is being portrayed? Did Oney crack a kid?

I don't know what anyone has said about it because I haven't heard. But, I'm pretty sure Oney didn't touch anyone unless it happened after he left. There was one guy standing up and heckling when Oney was on stage and the guy wouldn't shut up. I couldn't see his face because the lights were on us, but I know he was relentless. I don't know if he got thrown out or if he just stopped doing it.

Some people were much too intoxicated, but the vast majority of the crowd seemed to be having a good time and were enjoying themselves normally.

Everyone has to be ready for anything at a roast.

I don't know about that. Heckling isn't really part of it, and it's uncomfortable for pretty much everyone else watching. Like Seinfeld said, "NO! Not part of the show!"

Dan and Terry just said they, along with Hanley, left after Oney's senorita smacked the dude.

I don't know everything, but take this for what it's worth, but I guess Oney's girlfriend slapped a heckler, don't know if it's the one people are talking about or another heckler.

Has anyone told Oney that he is not important at all and or that nobody cares about him or his moronic opinion?

Talked to one guy who was at the roast and he was embarrased for everyone involved is what he said.

He bought four tickets, thinking his buddies would be happy to go. None of them wanted to go, so he brought his wife and another couple. Said Ranger did a fine job and things started off well, then basically when the Guillen family gets involved it just starts falling apart.

He ended up leaving early as he actually thought the place was going to erupt into a full out riot the whole event was so drunk and angry.

Again, the tone changed when Oney got up there, but it really had nothing to do with anything Oney did that night. Quite honestly, Oney didn't even really get a chance to get many words out. From the moment he started walking up there, people were all over him.

Now obviously, that reaction is based on the stuff he's done over the last year so and he brought it on himself. But I was just sort of hoping people would let him get up there, say what he had to say, and then we could've moved onto the next guy. I'm not defending any of his tweets, because I don't agree with him doing what he did, but things wouldn't have gotten out of hand if he would've been able to just do his thing and then get off the stage. Honestly, I don't even know anything he said while he was up there because people were shouting over him from the beginning.

What I'm saying, jimmy, is that everyone would have been better off had they just let him do his thing (whether it was going to be good or not). The heckling made it uncomfortable for everybody else. You don't have to like the guy or his roast, just don't applaud him and we move onto the next roaster. That simple.

I still don't get how having him up there was anything but a horrible idea. This would be like having bartman speak at the 2004 cubs convention to a bunch of liquored up fans.

I agree, Ranger. Shouting down Oney when he's set to speak was low class and dispicable. I can see how this can happen. Even respectable people, in mob setting, join in when others are booing cuz they're hidden in the masses and are probably a little drunk. It's just harmless fun, to them, at the time but they should think of Oney even though he's a low class jerk himself. That's tough to have that happen to you in front of all those people. Just like Oney should have thought of Jenks when he tweeted personal info to the masses.

It was a bad idea to have Oney there. You have to expect the worst from people in a situation like this. Mitch should have saw this coming. At the very least, they should have not have had him speak.

It must of been bad if people are feeling sorry for that jackoff Oney.

Wish I were there

Are they really feeling sorry for him or is this some damage control and serious knob slobbering by WSOX to the Sox.

Given the recent events, everyone would have been better off if the mic never made it in to Oney's hands. Have him there, thats fine. But giving him the floor opened up a giant can of worms. I'm not saying at all that the heckler was in the right, but Oney never should have been allowed to speak. That simple.

I think it's funny that Mac commented on the "maturity" shown by Ozzie Jr. The motherfucker is pushing 30. If we have to discuss his "maturity" the bar is pretty fuckin' low.
