Thought I'd start a thread since I had this question on my mind and I'll likely forget it by tomorrow.

Mac - one of the things that I didn't hear last week from the Score as they celebrated their anniversary and were passing kudos all over was the credit that I think could also be given to the fact that the Score was developing right at the start of the Bulls Championship run. That was 6+ years of programming for 820/1160 that could take them from Oct-Jun every year and it seemed people couldn't get enough talk of the Bulls at that time. It allowed people to get familiar with Score personalities and let the station establish a "personality". Maybe I'm overstating their importance, correct me if I'm wrong, as you were there.

My question is this - while the Sox WS was big, my thought is this Super Bowl is a real chance for ESPN to establish what they are as a station and what listeners should be able to expect from your station. I would expect listenership(?) increases substantially in this 2-3 week period and people will remember what you give them during this time. I'm not even a Sox fan and I remember who I was listening to at that time.

In light of Dan Patrick's Cowboy love last week, how aware are you/management of the importance of these few weeks, what is being done differently or do you disagree?

Mac, your letter to Terry was a good read, but why does Terry get all this love? He doesnt like Listeners, co-workers or anyone it seems to me.

Mac has partially answered this in the past:

My Name 1s Mud (I really don't get that) asks if I ever have been approached by satellite radio to do a show.

My agent, Bryan Harlan, had only cursory conversations with some satellite people when I was negotiating my contract a year ago this past spring. As the FCC restrictions - especially under the Disney umbrella - become prevalent, I absolutely will pursue satellite as a viable place of employment down the road.

EG Greg wants an opinion on satellite radio and Stern.

Satellite may be where we all wind up... if Bush gets his way. Our restrictions on ESPN 1000 are far more significant than some on this board have suggested. EVERYTHING is scrutinized, so I may wind up on satellite somebody. I'd love to say "God damn it" and "what the f___k?" on the air. That's how one talks at a neighborhood saloon so I'm a satellite advocate for that reason alone. I don't listen to satellite, however, and I miss Stern on the commute to golf courses early in the morning, but I'm adjusting to life without that show. I'm not an over-the-top Stern fan by any stretch, but I enjoyed his show when it aired on 'CKG, now FreeFall FM.

Mac,

I am curious to know if you heard from Sean Salisbury and/or management over your public criticism of Sean a couple weeks ago.

Mac. Monday evening Jurko and Harry started down a thought regarding Melissa Issacson and it quickly turned away from sports toward sex. Your redirection back toward sports was pretty pointed. Is this a direction from Mgmt or is it your desire to keep the conversation at a certain level of civility? (Jurko restroom stories not withstanding.)

Mac, why not make Ask Mac a monthly 6 o'clock hour feature on air?

Finji / Justin C., please give Darkside's suggestion some consideration. Even after the inevitable censorship of some questions, I still think that there will be plenty of topics that will make for excellet radio between 6-7pm.

It would seem like the segment would have to include all three of them. I think an "Ask MJH" segemnt has potential...

Dan,

I also wonder why there is so much love for Terry B. He portrays a man that hates life and sports and he comes across as someone who hates everyone. Why would you eve consider working with someone that could kill your show? Your fan base seems important to you. Many of your fans have listened to you since the COS days. He's alienated soooo many listeners and fans eve since he's worked with that burrito.

Explain to us again why he's such a good guy. The people that listen to his sports hating and his people hating will think otherwise. He's the most negative person I've ever heard on a platform (sports) that should be fun and entertaining. If I want to hear someone bitch all ot the time, I'd stay home with my old lady!

Mac,

Have you heard from Marti Jones lately? How's she doing?

She's probably stuck in traffic.

Mac,

Late on Tuesday you did a bit on the dismal NHL All-Star game ratings. What, in your opinion, will it take (aside from Dollar Bill Wirtz's death and Hawk home games being televised) to get the NHL back on the front burner in Chicago? I would be interested to hear your opinion since you were a guy who talked up hockey back in the Coppock days.

FWIW re hockey TV ratings: I read somewhere that the NHL All-Star game actually had a 7.1 share rating in Buffalo and Mark Cuban's blog just noted that the NHL on NBC has apparently been beating NCAA basketball recently on Sunday afternoons:

Love the name Pete but I would love to see a Peter Puck avatar on your posts .I was a huge fan of the really rottens .

I know Mac will address this but Stinkfinger posted a great article in the Hockey thread on how the NHL is on it's death bed. It's a about a few years away from going out of business.

Getting Gary Bettman out of the NHL is the first thing that needs to be done .

Mac,
Since you know Gridiron Assasin, I invite you to play Mac vs. the board here. Which one of these is NOT an alternate message board identity of Gridiron Assasin?

1. Linda S.
2. Beef Rockmore
3. Krazy Ivan
4. Jim DeRevolting
5. None of the above...they all are ghosts of Gridiron.
