Illinois can't win on the road, losing to Penn St, Indiana, and fucking UIC. Michigan St. has been underachieving all season, losing to Michigan at home this week. Wisconsin blows a 9 point half time lead, and loses to a awful Penn St team today. Come tourney time, bet against all these fake ass top teams.

True, put I didn't expect much from them. Big Ten was suppose to have 7 or 8 tourney teams this season, and right now I'm not sure how many I would want to take.

The only standout team from the Big Ten has been Ohio State. Penn State deserves a shot to get into the tourny as much as any other one of the teams (minus Ohio State). Penn State has played some good basketball this year all things considered. I wouldnt be surprised if they make a mini run in the Big Ten tourny taking out a few of the teams like Wisconsin and maybe even Michigian state along the way.

Trying to bet and predict the big ten this year has been very difficult.

OSU's schedule has been ridiculously soft thus far. Hard to tell how good they really are.

They have a few tests coming up with @ Minn, Wisconsin, and Purdue. If they manage to win these games(and with the way all 3 are playing it shouldnt be out of the realm of possibility) they should run the table.

@ Purdue is the only one that seems like it might give them a hard time. But Ohio State did just crush Purdue by 23 this past week.

I'm not sure the Big Ten is "shitty" at all just because they are beating each other.

Is the Big East "shitty"? UConn, Villanova, Syracuse - all lost today.

Don't believe the SDSU/BYU/NOVA hype. Big Ten will put 2-4 teams in the Great 8 come tourney time.

Ya don't think Izzo will work his magic in the tourney enough to rattle off 3 straight and make it to the great 8? He has basically the same team this season that's already made the Final Four 2 seasons in a row.

And Wisconsin's defense keeps em in most every game:

Quote:
Tenacious D:
Big Ten teams continue to rank as some of the nation's best defensive squads. Wisconsin is fifth in the NCAA in scoring defense, allowing opponents to score an average of just 56.4 points per game. The Badgers are one of just two teams in the nation who have yet to surrender 70 points in a game this season. Wisconsin has not given up 70 points at home in over two years (34 games), tying Ohio State for the longest active streak in the nation. The Buckeyes rank eighth in the nation in scoring defense (57.1), while Purdue ranks 12th (58.3).

Now why would you say that:

Buckeyes putting the hurt on Tennessee-Martin, Oakland Univ and Florida Gulf Coast not doing it for ya.

As fake as Ohio State might be, depending on how they do during their upcoming hell week--
@Minnesota, @Wisconsin, Spartans@ Home, @ Purdue--OSU goes 2-2 that week and they likely end up a 2 seed in the tourney at worst. That alone might be enough to push them through the sweet sixteen--basically, they'll have 1 tough game and they're in the great 8.

All overrated as well. Syracuse has lost 4 in a row, with a couple being at home. Not sure Nova or UConn are as good as there rankings.

Impressive game by Ohio St, lol, almost blowing a double digit lead to Northwestern. I wonder if Bernsie was around for the close finish.

I am not ready to buy into Purdue yet, there was times today against Minnesota, when you see that there missing Hummel, especially when Etuan Moore is in a shooting slump.

Penn State is playing well this year, but to me a bad loss for Wisconsin today.

When Minnesota gets Nolan back, that could be a dangerous team, when Hoffarber can play his origianl postion, I think he is 1 of the 2 best shooters in the Big 10, along with Diebler.

I hope Michigan State can turn it around.

Right now, I think Ohio State doesn't want to be undefeated any more and would like a loss and should get 1 before the Big 10 tournament.

For me, it's hard to predict how the Big 10 will do in the tournament and untill you see the draw they get, but I would say Ohio State would go the farthest and maybe the only sweet 16 team in the Big 10.

Michigan State had to do everything they could to pull out the game against IU, a tough loss for IU.

Starting more and more to look like an off-year for Sparty, may not even make the NIT, maybe the CBI.

Izzo looked disinterested. he actually just gave up on the game for about the middle 20 minutes.

Iowa gets up for games at home. They played IL tough, OSU tough, MSU tough, beat IU there. On the road, they show their youth.

Hawkeye Vince, I think your 100% right on Izzo with this team, I don't think he's given up on them, but probably wonders what to do to get them care and play a good game. Even their wins are down to the final seconds and I think the last couple in overtime at home.

He was not Tom Izzo last night. From the time they got down big, I didn't see any screaming or yelling from Tom. He actually was sitting down for many minutes of the game.

I wonder what Korey Lucious was doing and if he 'poisoned' the team.

Also found it interesting that Kalin Lucas was sitting for large segments of time last night.
