So, I just hear Salisbury comment that this SB would have "2 of the three most explosive difference makers on their team on defense." He then named Bob Sanders and Brian Urlacher. First of all, as anyone who listens to this show (masochists) knows, when they were talking about defensive MVPs about a month back, Salisbury was riding Jason Taylor and Champ Bailey's nuts like they were Superman at Six Flags. He didn't so much as allow Urlacher's name into the fucking conversation. Suddenly, today, not only is Urlacher one of the top three "explosive difference makers" on defense, but so is Bob Sanders (I strongly suspect as a result of these two last games; who needs analysis, right?)! So, anyways, Rosey actually grew a pair and called Salisbury on his bullshit, and asked "what about Jason Taylor?" Salisbury dodged by claiming that he wasn't talking about best player, but the "most explosive difference maker." Uh, hey retard, when you're the best player, you're a fucking explosive difference maker by default. If you really think Jason Taylor and/or Champ Bailey are so good as to merit the DPOYA award, then you have to include them among the biggest difference makers on defense.

Ahh, that feels better.

I agree they should have separate Defensive Player of the Year and Explosive Difference-Maker Tide-Turning Big Play Clutch Performing Playmaker of the Year awards.

Weathermen and ESPN analysts make a living due to the fact that 95% of listeners/viewers don't remember what they said in previous weeks.

Sean Salisbury.. a unifying force in Chicago Sports media.. we collectively can't agree on Rex, the Bulls, which baseball team to root for.. but I read your rant and felt certain that if I had been listening, I'd have thought the exact same thing..

nice rant.. well done.. Sean would argue which of the 9 planets is the most important and have a different answer every day.. depending on which side of the bed he woke up on.. (of course, everyone knows, Jupiter is the most important. :) )

Damn Right! Jupiter's gravitational field counterbalances the Sun's at a distance just further out than Mars, keeping the asteroids beyone Earths orbit!
Clearly the most important, however Harry Caray would say "I think the Sun is my favorite planet!"

I'll argue with Salisbury on this all day - every right-thinking person knows there are only 8 planets and 3 dwarf planets. If he'd read a paper every know and then instead of taking pics of Mr. Happy, he'd know it.

LOL. Sam, I have a feeling Sean'd argue that the Sun was the most important "planet." "Anna, anna, I've always felt thatthatthat the Sun isa the king of planets."

for a guy that proclaims "I don't have to kiss ass or have the popular opinion" - ALL he does is kiss his guests ass and he goes out of his way to do it.

Sean's really layin' the saliva on thick on his guests assholes this morning. He's not in the feel-good business; unless you're a guest on the show, in which case he's really, really, really in the feel-good business.
