Not sure if he stopped doing this and all his other little timewasters, or just slowed down, becase as we all know, Mike would never admit to doing something that failed. So I don't think he ever would say he has finished doing them, but I don't think many of his original ideas have lasted, which really shows you just how bad the show is from top to bottom that nothing lasts.

I don't think so, but I don't listen often enough to be really sure. It may be that they were worried about the FCC, because there are rules about gambling on the air, though the exact dos and donts are something I don't have.
