I can't wait to hear North's and Hueb's version of Danny Mac's story from today, about Mac telling Strahan "PRENUP" to his face. LOL...

It should give Pappy programming from 6 to 10AM.

Hopefully he'll get Strahan on the air. Then again, ole gap tooth will be kickin' his boyfriend out of bed around 11AM EST. They don't call him the single season 'sack leader' for nothin....

Did anyone who heard the North/Fred version of the story think that they were implying that Mac was a bit cowardly in this confrontation? I did.

Yea, it was funny to hear their version. One constant from both version's is Mike Morth puffing his chest out when Strahan confronted them I would have loved to have seen that scene.

The bottom line is the Chicagoans didn't back down from the blowhard athlete from NYC.

They did Chicago proud.

I'd imagine a podcast of Mac's version will be on the website. North's was basically the same.

Strahan is a dick. The way he bullied that ESPN reporter after she correctly reported Strhan ripping his wide receiver. YOU CRITICIZED HIM STRAHAN. Then you bully a women because you didn't like her reporting it. That is a true ass hole.

I'm curious too. Guys when you have a story please explain it for those who didn't hear it.

On a break, Mac went to have a smoke.

He saw North and Huebner and they were walking outside (through a lobby) and talking loud (as most Chicago Bears fans do)...

Strahan was taping something for NFL Network and their loud banter threw him off, so he "GD"d them, and started dissing them.

Mac yelled back for all to hear: One word for you: "PRE-NUP!!!"

Then Strahan quickly approached them trying to bully them.

Mac said North chested right up to him saying something to the effect "Who the hell do you think you are talking to us like that... blah blah blah..." and then Strahan backed off.

I think that's kinda how it went. Woodridge or others that heard it can correct me or add in.

I haven't heard anything so silly since high school, and the only reason he would back down is becasue he would have a lawsuit on his hands.

Gridiron's version is essentially correct. But the part that North and Fred added was that Strahan was asking who shouted "Next time get a better pre-nup!" at him. At that point, they say, Mac leaves to do the show while North and Fred are left to tell him "If it were me that said it, I would've told you so", as they shake his hand and walk away.

Beef Rockmore can read this confrontation as an allegory of Chicago valor in the face of New York bluster if he likes--certainly that's the way Mac reported the story--but that's not how Pappy and his pet ferret recounted things this morning. They called Mac out, plain and simple. They strongly suggested that Mac had the opportunity to take responsibility for his remarks, but didn't do so--while they were left holding the bag and had to step up as the "real men" under the circumstances.

Harry also asked Mac how he had the balls to say something like that to Strahan. Mac said something to the effect of "Where guys like Northie and me grew up, you didn't stand for stuff like that".

Look I think Strahan's a dick and if he was shouting at them maybe he deserved that comment by Mac.

But I've got this image of Mackie running back to his radio booth once Strahan heard him. You gotta laugh at that image.

Here is a quick one for you guys. In 1985 a buddy and me went out LA after High School to hang with my Cousin and he took us to an Angles game who were playing the White Sox and our seats were 1st row by the on deck circle for the Angles. My friend felt the need to fuc k with Reggie Jackson at every turn . Yelling at him to strike out and he sucked, his candy bars were shit.. The whole game this went on and mind you this is Reggies home park were in . It's the bottom of the 9th my buddy is riding him in the on deck circle (I've said nothing the whole game) Reggie gets up to the plate and my buddy runs to take a piss and Reggie pops up for his 5th out of the game as he went 0 for 5 . He walks over to me and points the bat an inch from my face and tells me to go F U C K myself , thinking I was the guy who busted his balls all game . I say F-YOU to him , I'm not the guy and I get escorted out of the park to the squad car for questioning.

My buddy still tells the story to this day but that's how people get their ass kicked for no reason .

I finally got to hear the story of what happened with Strahan and I have to say that regardless of whether or not he is an idiot, what makes what North, Mac and Fred did any better? They came off as, I think, even bigger idiots than Strahan.

I found it funny to hear both Mac and North say that they were "talking loud" near where Stahan was working. You've each of these two before and I think that talking loud to them is the equivalent of shouting by anyone else. Besides, why not just walk away from the situation instead of pulling an idiotic, childish thing like yelling "Prenup" back at the guy. An action like that isn't justified and only makes them look just as stupid. By the way, they are both so-called media members and, as such, should comport themselves better instead of acting like a couple of drunk fans looking to start something. To me that's what this incident sounded like.

The best part of the story, to me, was that these guys are defending North's "chesting up" like this is some great, macho thing. The fact you are in this position makes you look foolish and defending it with this Chicago vs New York thing is just ridiculous. Telling him "do you know who I am" was laughable because I would guess that the vast majority of people don't know who North is. Besides, what's he going to do to him anyway? This sounded like that Goodfellas-wanna-be schtick that comes out of his mouth on a daily basis.

All parties involved should be embarrassed by what they did, yet both North and Mac each tell this story as if they made some great stand for truth and justice. I'm not going to defend Strahan because I think he can be a tool as well, as evidenced by his confrontation with the female reporter earlier this year. Yet, judging by the way both North and Mac tell the story one would think that what they did and said was justifiable.

I think the only thing that made North "chest up" were visions of a lawsuit and the accompanying media attention and possible payday dancing in his head.

I have little doubt that anyone believes it would take Michael Strahan any more than a minute or so to send North on an express trip to meet Licorice, and not much more than that to dispose of Mac. Trying to make themselves seem like hardasses for standing up to a pro football player is kind of comical.

Let me tell these idiots in the chicago sports media (north and others) about the new york vs chicago thing. Guess what idiots, nobody in New York gives a shit about the Chicago vs New York thing. It's like Chicago giving a shit about some city rivalry between Chicago and Mokena. That is how people from New York view it. Here's another clue for them. The whole Chicago vs New York thing maybe was a big deal in the 50s, but for the last 30 years, it's really been New York vs LA. That's the big city rivarly the media suits try to hype up every time now.

When you bring Chicago/NY rivarly up to New Yorkers these days, they laugh since they don't even think a rivalry exists between the two cities.

This had nothing to do with NY vs Chicago. This was "mid age meat head white guys vs large man star athlete."

It was just Pappy and McNeil trying to show they are tough guys. Nothing more then that. A couple of guys acting like kids.

They'll use things like "this is what we did in our where we grew up". But what does that mean? Nothing. That is just a hollow excuse to justify grown men acting like idiots.

Interestingly, Strahan also got into a (purely verbal) altercation this past week with a Miami sports radio host, Dan Le Batard (790 AM). Le Batard's co-anchor mentioned the divorce in passing, at which point Strahan lost his cool, went on a brief rant, and hung up. The guy seems like a real arrogant jerk.

Oh absolutly. Strahan is a class A ass hole. He bullied a women reporter and just seem like a dick. I'm glad the ex wife got 15 million from him.

The guy has a lot going on emotionally these days. I would give him a pass. Hell, I get angry if I lose a $100 bet. This man lost 15 million of money earned through endurance of exteme pain...and his marriage has crumbled while the wife questions his sexuality in the media. He has a reason to be a little on edge.
