Well shit, I'm old enough so here it goes....I inherited my dad's Toyota Celica Liftback in 1988 which had an eight track player in it. I found some of the carts my dad had as well as a few at garage sales. Nearly every single one of them snapped while playing, but I do still have a case of eight tracks layin' around somewhere in my garage.

I assure you I had much better one's than I've listed, but this is all I could remember.
My last "Real" eight tracks that I had:

Paul McCartney & The Wings (snapped) :( : The one with Band on the Run.
The Guess Who (snapped) :( Best of The Guess Who
Rocky Soundtrack (did not snap...tough SOB) :D
Fleetwood Mac (no snap) :D Rumours
Black Sabbath (snapped) :( Paranoid
John Denver (should've snapped) :x  Rocky Mountain High
Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (snapped, thank God)
America  (snapped) :D : Greatest Hits

As a young child I would jam out to the Blues Brothers soundtrack on 8 track and Born in the USA on vinyl.

The last 8 tracks that I remember buying or more likely receiving as gifts (I was 11 or 12):

AC/DC - Back In Black, Dirty Deeds

REO Speedwagon - High Infidelity

J Geils Band - Freeze Frame

Foreigner - 4

I still have a ton of vinyl from the late 70's to the mid 80's. I still have Kiss - Alive 2, and Cheap Trick - Live At Budukon which were 2 of the 12 I got when I joined the Columbia record and tape club when I was 10.

There was just something cool about the red light switching over and the "track changing" sound. 8) 8) 8) 8)

All the younglings on the board just won't get it. :P

That would be "Band on the Run."

Jeff, do you remember how you could faintly hear songs from one of the other tracks in the background of the song you were listening to?

It sucked when it split "Ramble On".

Maybe 10 years old? and in the basement going through the crap from my stepbrothers room and there was the stereo system. Never had one, so I plugged it in, hooked up the speakers and put in the Briefcase Full of Blues 8 track!

Moved the system up to my room, rigged up some AM radio antenna and got my first Chuck Swirsky on AM 1000, then owned by WCFL doing a sports talk show!
