I really wish there was an afternoon drive sports option for when Shorty Dan gets stuck on the NBA or WSOX becomes too obvious.

So how does the Afternoon Saloon Exist? Here's a few ideas.....
- the Score buys the air time for the Saloon so Dan and Terry look awesome
- Harry buys the air time because he always wanted a radio show
- Fill a slot until Larry and Rangey get out of their lucrative deals to join Reed Timmer
- It's a Ponzi scheme floated by Jerry
- ESPN forgot the show existed
- ESPN won't admit a mistake
- Other?

His father had a role in setting up WMVP, pre-ESPN days. (Which was a terrible station!)

Don't know that as a fact, but heard it a few times and he has been there sinc ethe inception, no matter what format the station was.

So you're saying that if somebody showed up in the Bears' locker room so drunk that they pissed themselves, McCaskey wouldn't show up at their wedding?

I have kinda changed my views on Carmen because I cant really listen to Boers and Bernstein too much without wanting to kill one of them. Harry on the other hand has NO business being on the radio.

I cannot even give the show a chance because of Harry. When he is not there I don't mind listening. Harry is the showstopper. I provides mindnumbingly bad content.

I haven't listened to this show for even 5 minutes since Mac left. My life has been awesome since then. I recommend you all do the same.

So very true. What does the old man do? How has he gotten so connected? Must have some influence to get his drunk son a life time deal at ESPN 1000.

I give them a try sometimes but Bernstein is much more entertaining. This show is just 3 guys giving you generic sports talk. At least Bernstein will talk about interesting stuff and take it places that these guys won't.

He has been at the station since before it went to a sports talk format. He did work with Brandmeier amongst others in years past. He did the Harry and Spike show and even did some work with Kevin Matthews. The guy is a survivor in the industry. Why he has been able to survive in an industry that has chewed up many talented on-air personalities could certainly be a subject for debate. But that he has lasted a good deal longer than most in the business, is a certainty.

He's involved himself in little things like ownership of land on which sears tower was built.

The show is great! Did you guys get a chance to here the hilarious segment that had "Mikhail Prokhorov" on? He had an accent, but it wasn't really Mikhail Prokorov, it was so funny. I kept thinking myself, "this shit is why CJH is the best sports show in town!"

I hope they do more of this type of stuff....maybe some singing of some songs that are "redone" to include some hilarious riffs on the other hosts, now that would be great. Or maybe Jurko could keep sleeping through the entire show and Carmen could continue to fake being excited to a host of this hugely successful vehicle.

Keep it up, guys!
