Horrific play calling by the Coordinators. I thought I was watching a Vince Tobin Defense. That pansy bend but don't break mentallity. Playing 17 yards off the ball?

The Offense was clueless the whole game and they seemed resigned to the fact that Bad Rex was playing. What did they sign Griese for if he wasn't there to play?

I don't want to hear the crap that this was a learning experience one more time. The last time we were here was 21 years ago, how did that happen. What did we learn from that?

Ron Rivera's Defense sucked in the playoffs last year as it did yesterday, so what excuse do all the Rivera supporters have this time?

I think the Media was proven correct when they said the Bear's were the worst team to get into the Superbowl.

I wouldn't say they were the worst team to make the Super Bowl, but they sure played like one of the worst. If you look at the offensive and defensive stats, it's hard to believe this wasn't a huge blowout.

How about they were playing against one of, if not the, best quarterback of all time. All week everybody talked about how the LBs had to get depth to cover Dallas Clark. Peyton just kept taking what the defense gave him. He executed perfectly.

Worst team to play in a super bowl? What the hell is wrong with you people? They lost by 12 points and were within 5 with 10 minutes to go. There are teams that have lost by 30 points in the super bowl. I've seen plenty of super bowls that are over by halftime.

The defense didn't dominate, but they also were on the field for 59 out of the 60 minutes of the game.

Agreed. The Bears played poorly, but calling them the works team to play in a Superbowl is ridiculous. The offense basically did nothing last night. That is why the Bears lost.

Those Bronco teams of the 80's that got mauled by the Giants, Redskins and 49ers were pretty bad Super Bowl teams.

Thanks for talking some sense Kramer. Reading through some of these posts I had to go back and make sure they didn't lose 55-10. The defense gave up 1 real bad TD and only one other TD to a very good offense.

They didn't play very well but they still did what they have been doing since Brown and Harris went down which is give up yards, try to get turnovers and keep them out of the end zone. They didn't make stops when they needed to to get off the field but they weren't horrible.

The game was still there to be won in the 4th quarter and they just didn't get it done. The Colts played better. The Bears had a good year but they were a team with flaws and those flaws came back to bite them in the 2nd half.

They were an inconsistent offensive team all season but they often got turnovers and great special teams play to bail them out at crucial points in the year. They didn't get that in the second half and they lost.

The bears offense killed the defense, they were on the field the whole game

Umm, how about the 1985 Patriots? Or the Raiders team that got annihilated against Tampa Bay?

Rex played poorly late in the game when they turned him loose. But, I thought the game was lost in the Bears inability to run for first downs. Here are the short yardage opportunities in the game where they tried to run for first downs. They got 2, both late in the game when I think Colts were looking pass. In game order -

2nd-4 - 1 yard gain
next play - Grossman pass (inc.)

1st-5 - 1 yard gain
2nd-4 - no gain
next play - Grossman TD pass

3rd-6 - 4 yard gain
next play - punt

2nd-6 - no gain
next play - Grossman 2yd pass

3rd-3 - 2 yard gain
next play - punt

2nd-2 - 4 yard gain (first down)
2nd-2 - 12 yard gain (first down)

The running game wasn't getting it done when it needed to. They ran for 3 first downs all day (the 52 yarder and these 2). That isn't doing the job.

True, granted the Bears were not the best Super Bowl loser over the last decade, but they are not the worst...dare I say...
the 94 Chargers--game was over before it started
the previously mentioned 02 Raiders
that Giant team that got whacked by the Ravens was pretty bad
ANY AFC team from 85-95 (except for maybe the first Buffalo Team)

Granted the Bears played bad and probably would not have made it past the 2nd round in the AFC. But, they are just one of many Super Bowl losers that just could not hack it.
