Fascinating interview with Carlos Pena. Seems like a cool guy, says the right things about being a Cub.
GREAT question from Goff, asked "What is the word around the league about playing for the Cubs?"
Sounds good, love me some Goff, would love to hear more of him.
That's it for now. I just tuned in so I don't have more.

I'm still not listening until next week when spring training games start.

That said, there was a good article about Carlos Pena in the Trib yesterday talking about how he has been coaching defense in the infield during workouts this week.

That is all.

Actually listening today. Good show so far. Even with M. Pants. Maybe I can tolerate him after all....in moderation.

I have a serious question...did the Bulls win last night or something?

I was too busy watching hockey to care, but now I'm curious.

It is interesting, Goff makes meat more listenable lately than Mac does.

Mac and Meat just don't work together. Still no real chemistry, feels forced quite often. I like Meat and I like Mac, just not together.

Lovie sounds awake. This is the best interview I've heard him do in forever...

He was just given a big gift.
Guy is going to be insufferable for another couple years.

Question, boys... I don't think there's much doubt that this team overachieved this season given the talent levels that they had. Was that luck, coaching, or something else? Was Lovie why they did better than everyone thought?

A lot of luck (no significant injuries). The only good coaching job I saw was out of Mike Tice with the crap known as an O-Line.

No

Lovie did a good job of coaching, IMO. I know that isn't a popular thought because everyone wanted him gone at the begining of the season. Luck only gets you so far. There were things that needed to change after the bye and he took care of it. Everyone wants to blame him for the bad things and praise Tice and the assitants for the good stuff....

I'm not going so far as to blame him for the bad things. I think Martz screwed up the offense. Tice adapted the line when necessary. Lovie may have put his foot down in regards to play calling, but I don't buy it.

The defense was as good as it has been because there were no injuries. This defense would have been this good last year had Urlacher not been lost in week 1. We saw how exposed it was during the 1st Seattle game with Briggs out. They don't have the depth, but I've long thought that Lovie knows his defense.

Lovie had the final say in who his coaches would be. He has to get credit for getting a guy like Tice in there to work with that terrible line. From all accounts, Lovie dealt with Martz and if he gets blame for the hire he has to get praise for "fixing" the guy. The defense was solid. Special Teams was good. Not sure what else you could want from him...

Stop talking hockey.

No, seriously. Stop talking hockey. Neither one of you watched the game (and rightfully so).

Special Teams has been good for quite some time. I don't know how much input he had on Tice...I wonder how much of that was Jerry Angelo and Lovie compromising to get his guy (Martz) in there.

Did anybody hear Stacey's interview? He's pissed about Scottie working the playoffs with them. He didn't say it outright, but you could really tell he thinks the whole thing is some 'ole bullshit...

Exactly. I said this before they did their first show together. I like Mac, cant stand Meat. I really with Mac would be teamed up with Boers again. Both Mac & Boers are better with each other than with their current co-hosts.
Meatpants is the least valuable host on the Score, & Mitch knows this. Sooner or later Mac will get a good co-host.

Been listening less and less, everything is a movie reference, a quick song parody try, and I said from the beginning....they are just not as funny as they think they are. Both laughing at what the other said no matter what, like they have to suck up to each other.

The song parody thing blows my mind.

I think Mac is the problem. He drives the trainwreck. Meat is better with others, but still not very good.

Mac is just lazy and the substance of the show is his idea. Boring, juvenile show with very little substance.
