Waddle is not dumb enough to take a job that would put him with Salisbury right?

It's impressive that someone could tank a talk show and get himself fired that quickly when it was obvious that higher ups wanted him to suceed and possibly take show national.

Yeah, I guess we didn't give the MNMS enough credit for longevity.

I guess the question no longer is "if or who," but "when."

When will Salisbury's last day on 1000 be?

Whether its fair to Rosey or not, I hope he's gone too. I don't want any reminders of this horrible show. I gave it a listen for about 20 min. this morning.

I think I'd be willing to give Rosenbloom a fresh start with Waddle. Whether Rosenbloom is horrific or not himself, no man should not have to sit next to.....I mean talk via telephone to a Salisbury everyday. His Rosenblog is probably hillarious and we just don't realize it.

I doubt it, he was the same miserable guy whe he was on the score with Baum on the weekends. Get rid of both and get a fresh start.

If I had my way, I wouldn't mind hearing the "Final Word" on radio. Besides his daughter, is the "redhead" good looking?

The redhead he's referring to is his current GF, Matt Murton. He's doing just fine.

Rosie made continuous references this morning that Salisbury was interviewing with Dallas for a coaching vacancy (he was joking), and MJH just made a reference to Kaplan's partner...maybe we'll hear something today.

On the MJH page you can see this line:

Quote:
Mac, Jurko, and Harry educate Tom Waddle on the "ESPN Way."

Hmmmm....very very interesting. Seems like only a matter of time.

They were talking about Kaplan, and Harry chimes in "Who's his partner again? I forget." And Mac said "we'll have more on that later on".

Im sure in the end it will be the ratings that did Salisbury in. But I do think the board (and I've only been on a month) gave an explanation as to why the ratings are bad.

also when they were talking about the guy who named his kid after the show, harry said 'he used to want to name it 'terry dan mcneil', so I guess that means that his next one will be 'tom...err nevermind'.

C'mon Darkside. Do you honestly think this board holds any weight in somebody's job at ESPN 1000? I say at the most .001% weight. Unless the board is the new Arbitron, not much.

I do think that board comments hold some weight.
I've heard it said that each letter a listener (or viewer) sends in count for hundreds, being that most people are too lazy to send anything in.

I like Oak Brook Joes' answer. He's dead on I think.
Low ratings with faithful posters could have been a different outcome. Maybe they would think they're building their base. Maybe they'd give it time. This board is an awesome barometer of the power of word of mouth.

I agree with Ryan. The board is only here to provide programming for MJH.

Sometimes I just think too many people on here think this board does more than it really does. Yes, it gets read. Yes, you can gain some valuable insight into something that works or doesn't and get an immediate reaction or response to it. However, I don't think when they would sit down to discuss firing someone and say, "You know, CSFMB really had nothing ever good to say about this guy. I think that's the nail in the coffin." Sometimes I think people are patting themselves too much on the back on "what kind of power this board has."

This is true. But if you read people calling Salisbury a douche, you start to question it yourself. At this point you will either agree or disagree, but Im pretty sure Salisbury confirmed to a bunch of people he's definately a douche. Plus when you lose money on ratings, they have to point the finger at someone.

Not really what I was going for.

I was just referring to the fact that this is a pretty easy place to get the word on the street, from people who are listeners.

That's really all I meant.
