I won about $1,500 one night playing blackjack on an online site. I'd say no they aren't rigged. Why would online casino's risk what they already make billions of dollars on? Poker and other games seem rigged because you are seeing so many hands. The bad beats and losses come more frequently because the speed of the game is increased considerably.

The real question is, why would you trust them to not be rigged?

I have played them in the past, including traditional "casino" games and online poker, and I didn't really see them as being noticibly different than "real life".

Trust me; I had the same suspicions as well. But I believe sites have to be certified by a gaming board or something, right?

Online casinos are not hosted in the United States, they are usually in places like Costa Rica and Antigua. They are not subject to any regulations. They can screw you over, and there is nothing you can do about it.

It is pretty widely accepted in the sports gambling community that online casinos should be avoided like the plague.

My aunt won 40K on one. She has that luck at casinos too.

Online casinos and online poker are different. When playing casino games, you are playing against the house. When playing online poker, you are playing the other players at the table, not the house. The house rakes from every pot, so they don't care who wins.

Do you think the online sites cheat in poker to increase the size of the rake? I've had some pretty maddening beats in my life. I don't believe it, but i've heard many people make claims like this.

I was at Hollywood in Aurora yesterday and the tables were so crowded that I tried the video roulette. Won $700 on the first spin. Nothing better than being 5 minutes into an excursion and playing with house money for the rest of the day.

I do know that Costa Rica and Aruba based casinos are very strict on who gets licenses and how they operate. I know a guy who has a land based casino in Costa, and he really had a hard time and they always check him and his operations out.

Nicarragua is the dirty place. You don't want to play sites based there.

i know of a site that is ran by 2 local friends, it is not fixed .. but i know ultimate bet and some other sites have been proven to be rigged. there are programs where you can see all of your opponents hole cards. i do not play online anything, prefer the real thing .
