This game is absolutely beautiful.

I've read stuff about using the analog sticks for swinging and I think pitching. Not sure I'm too crazy about that.

What are your thoughts on using the analog sticks more?

I'll try it out. I think I read that you can set it up to play like the old games too.

They are trying this new analog swing and pitching this year. You can still set it to default controls, but I'm intrigued to try out the new system.

I'll definitely be around tonight to play. Haven't played The Show since '09. Accepting all challenges for sure

I like the pitching, it feels like you are actually in control of where the ball goes, the hitting is tricky for me as I have a hard time focusing on both the timing and the location of the pitch at the same time. Both new modes are gonna take me a lot of time to master.

I usually get this when a month into the regular season. Can usually find a decent price used by then. Hopefully I can break the lazy habit of guessing low fastball every pitch and just having my bat up in the zone and ready if I don't guess right.

I thought that habit was the key to success?

Indeed.

I bought it after work too. Like the analog for pitching, not enjoying it for hitting but I'll stick with it for a bit.

Yeah I went into RTTS right away, it was pretty ugly. But not as ugly as that :P

I love the analog for pitching. For hitting it's really tricky. Starting the game on experienced mode and managing only 5-6 hits and 2ish runs a game so far. Then again, I am the Cubs so that has something to do with it

got to play it for a a couple hours before work and for a little bit after...At first glance, I dont like the analog stick...Maybe I just have to grow into it...I like to re-tooled RTTS Mode...Not doing too bad in my first year as a starting pitcher for the Atlanta Braves AA team in Mississippi...They started me out in the bullpen and I was in the starting roatation in two weeks....Now that i am starting...I am starting to get hit a little bit.
AT&T is coming out Saturday to upgrade my internet connect...Hookink up a new desktop, laptp and PS# to the internet...So I am y'all will be kicking my arse in this game soon.

Never played a pitcher in RTTS...is it even that fun? I guess it's an opinion...but I figure it would be slower paced.

I like batting because I simulate a lot of the game...can play through many games more quickly...

When I finally get around to RTTS, I usually play as a pitcher...games seem to go faster than when playing defense.

i know last year on the game you could download hall of famers, did not see an option for this new season and was told it will not have them. is this true?

Once I hit .450 in RTTS I quit. It's a lot of fun dicking around the minors, although it was annoying you'd only play 2 out of 3 games because you're "tired." It also seemed your power was suppressed, you'd hit 3x as many homers once you got to the bigs than you did in AAA with only slightly better power stats but against MLB aces instead of scrubs. In 2009 I played LF and it was ok for the 7-8 times a game you had to field. Could have skipped the fielding opportunities which were just picking up singles hit between SS and 3B but it was fun. Did all the baserunning too. Ditched fielding and baserunning in 10. Might go back to fielding but too many 10 pitch at-bats just standing on 3rd base as a runner sucked.

Never got that far as a pitcher. It's really frustrating to start because even when you pitch where you want it (not that I was able to do that very often) you still got crushed a lot. Now sure, that's kinda how it goes as a pitcher, but as a game playing experience it wasn't very fun. I'd love to do full franchise seasons but there's just no way I'm playing 162 games, and half the fun of baseball is 162 game records and achievements.
