He's taken the high road with Harry a few times when it comes to how he is off the air. Though, I believe Mac has had issues with the bottle to some extent himself so maybe he feels like he would be a hypocrite if he bashed Harry now?

Unless Mac really has pull at the station I can not see them keeping Spiegs on with a very good Goff sitting in the wings. Everybody praises him and seems to believe in him. He also seems to be something Matt is not a team player and dedicated to the station.
