The whole idea of the new "1st round games" is stupid. Two of those winners will play a #1 seed, one will play a #5 and one will play a #6. What the hell is the logic in that?

Essentially a #12 and a #11 seed will have to win one more game than teams seeded below them...........again it's stupid.

On Pitt, I don't know if this is good or bad, but I agree with Seth Davis, with a 9,12, and 13 winning in that region and I don't know how Florida is a 2 seed, nice team, but not 2. I could see Pitt vs Byu in that elite 8 matchup.

Duke got the toughest, Michigan or Tennsee 2nd game, then Arizona or Texas, and then possiblly Uconn.

On Big 10, I like Purdue to walk to the sweet 16 and possibly elite 8, still not sold on the Irish.

I think the Southeast and West will be the toughest regions to pick and on ESPN, talking about a poor field, well that' what you get with expansion. USC-VCU and Clemson-UAB, that will get people to Dayton, along with the 2 16 seed matchups, it should be just the 16 seed matchups, but I guess they wanted to be nice to Turner and not give them games nobody would want to watch.

Normally I am really exited about March Madness and all that goes with the tourney. But I am having a real hard time getting excited about it this year. Hopefully that will change once the games get started, but so far I am pretty "meh" about the whole thing.

I could see a lot of people agreeing with you RFDC, no dominant teams, could be that everybody leaves for the pro's the first chance they get.

Look at this year, Ohio State and Kansas are the for sure number 1 seeds, Duke and Pitt weren't, just nobody else dominant and then they give Pitt a bunch of weird teams in the region.

I don't think its that there are not enough dominant teams, but that there are so many absolutely pathetic, loser teams that really have no business being in this tournament. The field should have been about 16 teams this year, not 68.

How Florida got a number 2 seed is beyond me. More thoughts on this tomorrow, but Florida was ranked way too high.

I agree, if they had won the SEC title, maybe, but the way they looked today, no, but looking at the other seeds that were up there, maybe Texas could be the 2 and they got a 4.

Texas or Purdue would be a much better #2 than Florida.

Some pre-tournament thoughts, with Ohio State and Kansas the top 2 teams, if 1 or both don't make the FInal Four, I think you get a bad Final Four.

I know it's good to get every game of the tournament, but where they could run into an issue, I imagine the top 2 big upsets you will hear are Utah State over Kansas State and Belmont over Wisconsin, if they both win, how many will watch Belmont vs Utah State. Most of the weekend's game are by themselves, better have this one against other games, I can't imagine a lot of people watching that one.

That may be true but I wouldn't trade what Purdue got for anything but a #1 seed.

I'll be incredibly disappointed if they don't make the Elite 8. Notre Dame is a great matchup for them. I don't think it will be an easy win but I'm confident.

This is like the opposite of last year when the committee screwed Purdue over because they lost Hummel. They did them as much of a favor as they could this year.

Now hopefully the Illini can beat Kansas and really make the bracket good.
