Look on the bright side Illini fans, you beat IU.....once.

The NIT should be a fun time.

Michigan is gonna be a good team. They really started to look good towards the latter half of the season.

As long as things work out with the last few automatic bids the Illini should be in the tournament. This loss may actually be a blessing in disguise if they avoid the dreaded 8th or 9th seed.

When they are the "First Four Out" on Sunday you can also make fun of me!

They are actually a very interesting case. While the NCAA says they don't pay attention to conference affiliation they really need to see losses by Michigan State and Penn State to feel secure.

One could argue that both of them leapfrog Illinois with a win over ranked teams.

I predict an 11th seed for them. They even avoid the first round games and avoid the 8/9 seed curse.

I am an anti ILL INI guy, and have no idea why they are still a "lock" in some eyes to be in the tourney?

Been watching Lenardi for last 2 weeks and even this morning, they are not even final 4 in?????? or final 4 out????

Illinois vs UNLV in Tulsa. If they win, they play Kansas. Bruce vs Lon vs Bill at Bill's old school. This should put a nail in Weber's coffin if he doesn't beat at least one of the former Illinois coaches.

And there is zero chance they win. How are they a 9 seed? I was looking at a 12, 13, or 14 if they got in.

Demitri McCamey's cousin called up the selection committee and told them that he's recently reminded Demetri to be aggressive. Why not us, Illini faithful? This is the year... IT'S GONNA HAPPEN!!!@

(please note that i have not defined what "it" is, so theoretically speaking, "it" is 100% likely to happen)

I've been considering the last few days the idea that Illinois has been overcoached, McCamey in particular. I think the team is just mentally defeated in their quest to make the season anything but a total failure. McCamey used to be a killer late in games with the ball but now he acts like a dog that's been beat too much (with apologies to The Boss).

However, that said, a new lease on life might be just what this team needs. They literally have nothing to play for anymore (they won't win the NCAA title) so that pretty much takes all the self-imposed pressure off these guys.

I anticipate them actually coming out and playing well against UNLV. I'd take the Illini in that game.

Just giving you a hard time Doc. I actually agree with you. I expect them to beat UNLV and set up a game with Self.

Finfer was hammering away at the Illini today for a huge portion of his show. He was simply not happy at all, I felt bad for him and anyone listening to the show.

Should be a good game, I'll be tuning in for sure. I'll likely take the Illini in my
2 brackets. I could see them coming out hot and having nothing to lose like
Doc mentioned. After they blow their load in that game they'll just lay down
for Kansas and get killed by those Morris twins.
