I don't know. As it stood, there were already quite a few people there who were completely blitzed. I just don't know if handing out free booze would have been the best idea, economics aside.

It would have certainly been a nice perk, but to me it was more than enough to go hang out and put faces to the names I listen to everyday.

I am fairly easy to please, though, I guess.

You might be right. I wouldn't have cared if I was there. But I think if you invite people you should do something for them. Yeah, you might not want to be responsible for people getting hammered. Especially Score fans. But put out a spread. They have alot of food sponsors that could have done it. Oh well. I'm sure everybody lived. I read here that people really wanted to go to this thing. To meet there idols Boers, Bernsie, and North. That was enough for most I guess. Yesh. That's strange to me.

I dont recall hearing the Score guarantee free drinks and food and if it didn't say that on the ticket these people should just shut the fuck up, the party wasn't a thanks to the fans, it was all for publicity.

I've been to a few Roe & Garry remotes in the past. They did have sponsors who provided free food, but they had a cash bar. I kidded Roe about it, and he said for legal reasons they can't give away booze. Makes sense to me. In this litigious world, what kind of brain donor would serve free, all you can drink alcohol to hundreds of people, then turn them loose? I really don't care either way, but it seems like 2 free drink tickets upon entering would be reasonable. Hey, it works at my company Christmas party.

Let's remember one thing. Everything a radio station gives away is a trade out.

With that said, I am kinda surprised Real time sports & WSCR could not cut a deal for Free Beer and Hot Dogs.

Well give you 10 free ads if you provide 500 hot dogs and 4 free kegs? $600?

Does Real Time Sports do any DAY Business? I have no idea if it is open during the day or not?

I've been reading this for a while now, and it still strikes me that this event was not a remote: it was billed as an invite only, exclusive, one of a kind party that you had to win tickets to attend. It was not billed as a remote - where anyone could come and encouraged to stop by - and drink the great beer specials.

It seems to be that if it would not cost alot to give people a limited drink tickets or something like that - or limit the number of people who could attend to really make it exclusive.

If you do the it's my party and of course it's free approach - you avoid this type of publicity. Good news travels, bad news travels faster.
