Solid interview with Thibs BTW. DP told Thibs he thought Carmelo wouldn't have fit in with this squad (defense), and Thibs disagreed big time. Obviously a big fan of Melo and thought he would be a great fit.

What is Thibs supposed to say there? Yeah Melo sucks we never wanted him. He said the right things.

Well he started with the "we like our team" thing, but then Dan said they probably made the right move not to go after Melo. Wouldn't have fit in on defense. Wouldn't have fit this team. Thibs disagreed big time. Sure, I might have read it wrong, but Thibs could have stuck with his "we like our team" thing, but he went over the top on his love for Melo saying a player like him could fit in on this team.

Just interesting to see a coach really admit he wanted a guy, in season.

Well I am also sure Thibs believes he could make Melo a good defender and fit in with his team.

Definitely. He said he has seen Melo shows signs of being a good defender, alluding to what you said, IMO.

Anyone find the irony in Mac sending a text in regards to the Bulls, when he otherwise tries to avoid any Bulls talk whatsoever?
