I honestly have only heard his show maybe 5 times--working during the day. But, I will take the board members word that he is God awful. The question that I am going to ask is this--is he the worst regular host Chicago has ever seen? For someone to qualify, they have to have a regular show..no Coach and the Kid.

My thoughts exactly. Sean wishes he could suck half as much as Bill Simonson.[/i]

How long ago was Bill Simonson on? And why did he suck so bad? I'm trying to grasp how someone could suck more than Sean.

Huge was awful but I can't say he was worse than Salisbury. They are equally terrible to me.

His idea of publicity was getting his ass kicked outside Comiskey Park.

I'll give you a little taste of how bad he was: Lou Cannellis was the more likable person of their team.

The Simonson legacy lives on in Grand Rapids. Because of some personal attacks by coworkers or others hacking his e-mail, he forced the Michigan radio board management to block all references to him (much like gay here). Even if you use "huge" in an innocuous way, it comes out H***.

Is that why Lou Cannellis career has soared to the "190 North w/ Janet Davies" level?

If we're talking about local shows only, Sean is way up there. Maybe the Rick Telander show was worse, I'm not sure.

I think too many people on this board are way too critical of other hosts. Sean is really really bad.

But people rip on other hosts who I'd say are qualified, yet get ripped because they aren't the nicest people or were found to be annoying at times... i.e. Zach Zaidman, Lou, Tom Shaer are just a few. And outside of the OG complaining at times, was he really THAT bad?

I would have thought Huge would come out as Douchebag.

Absolutely not, no. It is the most tired cliche of all time, simply because it was tired the first time it was done.

Classic little exchange on Silvy and Carmen once again, in reference to Salisbury.

Silvy asking if Telander has a blog (aka a Telanblog)...

Carmen: How about the Rosenblog. Does Sean have one? How about the Salisblog?

Silvy: Yeah, maybe on his cell phone.

what the H E double hockey sticks happened to this guy? I thought he was good on Dan Patrick when he was a regular, but now he is a total waste of space, and after what happened today... this professional unadmitted to himself (because he is not in the feel good business) jock sniffer should just quit
I guess this is what happens when you start to believe your press, even if the press only exists in your mind.

I think it's analagous to a reserve player on your favorite team. You see he has good numbers in limited playing time. Then the logical fallacy begins: if he only had more playing time his numbers would be better. It rarely works.

Cubs fans are very familiar with this concept and will get to know it even better this year with Mark DeRosa.

I cant speak to the HUGE show. I dont think I ever tuned in. I was in college at the time, so I really did not live in the area full time. Sounds like Sean takes the cake...now GO AWAY!

It took me a couple years to give the MJH show a chance because of the stench left behind by the Huge & Lou crap-stravaganza. That guy pretty much eliminated sports talk radio from my consciousness during the afternoon drive.

Even so, Salisbury's joke of a show takes the cake. And no, you cannot feel sorry for Rosenbloom. Sorry. He is brutal as well.

I have cogitated deeply on Huge vs. Sean... and the winner (for me) is....

Sean.

Huge was a blowhard par excellence, but 1) he took seriously the notion of trying to become a real follower of Chicago sports and actually, um, lived there 2) he was a professional broadcaster, meaning... he occasionally let some else talk, he was articulate (just like Barack!!!), and he, you know, showed up on time 3) I am not aware of Huge ever doing anything as grotesque as Sean's dick-phone. It was supremely unentertaining radio, but Huge wasn't a walking lawsuit.

PS: I know Huge got beat up outside the Cell, and maybe he was loaded and/or mouthy, but a) we'll never know b) he wasn't on the air.

Well there is absolutely no argument from me that Sean Salisbury Steak is far and away the WORST local talk show host to come around in some time!!! One of my main beefs with him (besides his god awful delivery, and how he anticipates his turn to talk on NFL Live like he's gonna piss his pants if he doesn't get his turn to rant/sound like a moron) is that everywhere I go to watch/listen to sports there he is, AGHHHHHH!! I'm quite curious to know how on days in the past he manages to do the Chicago Radio Show, then appear on NFL Live and Sportscenter later on that afternoon??? Is his Chicago Show (which if there is a god will be canceled soon) located in Chicago??? If not W.T.F. is he on Chicago talk radio. I HATE SEAN SALSBURY!!!!

welcome to the board.
8)

Sean is in town once a week at best, on Thursdays, for Ditkapalooza.
Rosenbloom does the show from the AM1000 studio in Chicago.

I think it's weird that people here can't stand Sean, and yet they still listen. I don't like the show at all. Like Mac used to say, when a new show comes on the air, give it two weeks before you turn it off. I gave it half a week. The move to bring this backup wannabe QB, from Texas, from ESPN, to Chicago radio made ZERO sense to me. Seans opinion means nothing to me, he's not Chicago. And I really have no idea who the other guy really is. But bringing Sean here was just a huge waste.
I listened for the first half week, then I opted to just switch off my radio till Dan Patrick comes on. Though sometimes I switch his ass off too.
There have been times when I had to listen to Sean's show though. One show in particular, was the show after Dusty Baker got the can. Sean was actually sticking up for Dusty's manager skills, and whatnot, and every muscle in body twitched with anger at the nonsensical mutterings that came over the radio. This tard from Bristol is telling me about the Cubs and Dusty?
This Sean guy is pure crap. I don't know why any of you P1 Thunder/AM1000 fans can listen to this crap show. Turn the radio off! Be like me. I will choose free will!

I got little Rush on the brain this morning, but you know what I'm saying. But I just wanted to get my pent up anger over the show out. I've been holding on to it for a long time now. I'm not going to email the show with my views, cause Sean seems like the kinda guy that gets off on that kinda thing.
