I've been considering the last few days the idea that Illinois has been overcoached, McCamey in particular. I think the team is just mentally defeated in their quest to make the season anything but a total failure. McCamey used to be a killer late in games with the ball but now he acts like a dog that's been beat too much (with apologies to The Boss).

However, that said, a new lease on life might be just what this team needs. They literally have nothing to play for anymore (they won't win the NCAA title) so that pretty much takes all the self-imposed pressure off these guys.

I anticipate them actually coming out and playing well against UNLV. I'd take the Illini in that game.

Dr. Ken w/ a quality Fuck Yeah and the info I needed before Thursday. Miss a little miss a lot. Nice work Noisewater.

It was good to see Illinois play one of their best games of the year when it counted. Kansas has choked a couple of times in the tournament in recent years. Can Bruce Weber beat his two coaching predecessors in back to back games?

I couldn't believe how many times he mentioned changing the channel.

 At least my college has a few championship banners hanging from my lifetime.

Remind me again the last time the Illini hung a championship banner?

The last time Indiana won a national championship, Iowa was a two seed and DePaul was a three seed. Those says ain't ever coming back.

Vegas giving Illinois about a 20% chance of winning. Nate Silver's system gave about 25%, and Kenpom is giving about 30%.

Even if it's the lower of those numbers, I'll take it. One roll of the die. Not expecting a win, but it would make the season.

Looking forward to the game tonight. I'm drinking the orange Kool Aid all day long.
I think they have a chance if they play as well as they did Friday. Just gonna have
to battle down low all game long. Morris twins are gonna be rough to deal with.
Have to win the rebound battle somehow, it's been their achilles heel all year.

U of I pisses the bed again. I am done with Webber. Illinois will never be powerhouses in any sport, but they could at least try and compete.

Lord knows I am anything but an Illini fan, but I thought they played pretty well for the first 3/4th of the game, but in the end KU was just too much for them. Not sure how Weber would be to blame for this loss, they just got beat by a better team, perhaps the best team in the tourney.

Kansas was great in the paint & Illinois wasn't. Plus, it was too much to expect McCamey to play 2 good games in a row.

Crandall Head showed something these past 2 games. I'll be surprised if Richmond is back.

Well, I guess we now know how that backup point guard transfer from Bradley is going to be playing on scholarship next year.
