I'll say this again for you slow readers with comprehension difficulties...any discussion comparing Rose & Jordan is just plain stupid & premature. DR is a very good player & I'll probably tune in a few more games than I would normally watch as this team gets closer to the playoffs, but for the love of God, let the kid win at least 1 MVP & 1 NBA championship before we put him in the team photo with MJ.

If you go around a pigs ass to get a pork sandwich, you might get a pork sandwich, but you still went around a pigs ass.

You got a point, I see what you're saying, yeah the boo are 3-0 against them. I do agree that the bulls might be the de facto cream of the class in the East this year, but I think they still have that Detroit bugaboo represented by Miami....potentially.

Darko, you've got a little Dan Hampton in you...not that there's anything wrong with that.

Kirk,

I don't think anyone here is saying that Rose is better than Jordan. They're just saying that you don't have the ability to make this statement because (as you yourself stated) you have 1 only seen one game of Rose's. It hard to make a judgement when you don't know any facts, but you seem to do that alot.

He's convoluting the argument. the original post said nothing about him being BETTER than Jordan, it said he's becoming as EXCITING TO WATCH. Scorehead is the one who changed the argument midstream because of course you can't claim Rose is better than Jordan yet. you can get away with making such a claim because you don't even need to watch 1 game to realize that. really just covering up for the fact that you were exposed but that's nothing new

rose looks like jordan, has stats like jordan, wins like jordan.... im not sure what else people need to know. yes, it is his defense that isnt jordan like, but thats it. and its obvious the kid is smart enough to learn it, so its not right to count him out yet.

compare their 3rd seasons. rose is right there, and even a bit better with is team offense play. jordan was just as good at d as we was o, and thats what it will take to shut everyone up, but for now hes still just as incredible with the things he does.

Thanks again bagels. I am not claiming Rose is better than Jordan. Jordan is the best I ever saw. I was simply asking if D Rose is approaching Jordan in terms of exciting to watch. One person made a great point about how Rose seems to slice through several defenders. In addition, he has a knack for finding people while in the air. I don't care about Defense or 3 pointers (for the sake of excitement), I am talking about individual sequences where Rose makes you jump out of your seat because he does something amazing. There are also points in a game where he completely takes over, which also makes him very entertaining.

rose is the most exciting player in the league right now..d rose is not on a jordan level yet ,as far as excitement or skill. but no one is or has ever been.. if rose does not get hurt i could see rose going down as one of the greatest of all time, perhaps even surpassing jordan one day. lebron james is the same player now that he was his 2nd or 3rd year in the league. rose is the best player in the league this year and shows signs of only getting better. and this may rub some the wrong way but i don't think rose is playing with very good players but he makes them better. boozer is soft can score with both hands down low but no defense. deng is having a great year but this is the best deng has looked ever, and rose has much to do with that. noah is one dimensional and i can not see noah ever becoming an offensive threat. and if the bulls draft a nice shooting guard they may become a powerhouse for years. kobe could not even get out of the first round of the playoffs for a couple years after shaq left.. kobe is not close to mj

There is no comparison between Jordan and Rose other than both played for the Bulls. He's not in Scottie's league either. He's having a great year (I said he would come into his own in his 3rd season) but let's not get carried away. People were saying crazy stuff about Ben Gordon in comparison to Scottie not too long ago too. Rose is Allen Iverson with a better body and a little bit of D-Wade sprinkled in.

When everything is said and done, people will be comparing the next great player to Rose.

Hold up, there. That's a whole 'nother thread.

I'm willing to entertain Rose's tremendous ability. However, while the athletic ability might be better now, I'm not going to say that skill/talent level is better.

Couldn't agree more. Better athletic ability doesn't equal better talent.

I'd say both are disappointing this year. Evan Turner can't even get playing time though so he loses this year.

The number of superstars has always been the same; every team had their "guy" back during the Jordan era. That fact remains the same to this day.

However, everyone around these superstars are also better than the supporting casts of yester-year. I would be interested to see a comparison between the number of 50+ point games within the last 5 years in comparison to the final 5 years of Jordan's career.

I think time has wiped a few things away from your memory.

I'm not sure I'd say Wall is disappointing...true, his team sucks bad and his shooting hasn't been that hot

still, he's averaging 16.1 PPG, 8.7 APG & 4.6 RPB

i'd say that's pretty impressive he's getting almost 9 assists a game passing to the likes of Trevor Book, Andray Blatche, Rashard Lewis, Jordan Crawford, JaVale McGee...and yeah he's turning it over a lot too but I'd expect that to improve

for a rookie PG, I'd say he's having a pretty solid year.

While Wall was in college, people were asking if you'd rather have Rose or Wall. I think a lot of people expected him to be a borderline all-star this year. I think he's simply an above average pg right now. For a rookie, he's good. For a #1 pick I think he's been disappointing even though there are other #1 picks who were much worse than him in the past 10 years. He may have just been overhyped. He still was deserving of the top pick.

I think Rose took his game to a level no one imagine. Derrick Rose of last year isn't that much better than Wall this year. I wouldn't frown at 16, 5 and 9.

I don't see it. Unless he has some kind of "Joakim Noah-like" moment and he gets his head in the game. He's a huge baby and a potential team killer. I know he's young, but someone needs to set him straight. That ain't going to happen with the current crop on that franchise.

I thought he had the most talent before the draft and I still do. He's just too much like your moniker to be a great player.

well yes, perhaps it was just all the hype

i think its asking a lot to lead a dysfunctional team (who had Arenas, then dumped him for a surly Rashard Lewis) as a rookie PG. its common wisdom that PG is the hardest position to adapt to in the NBA as a rookie, so I expect his lesser qualities (turning it over a lot, for example) to imrpove. HOVA's right, those numbers aren't shabby. not sure if he'll make the leap that Rose has, but I think he'll take significant strides in the coming years especially when there's some more talent around him
