Not at all.

I absolutely believe that today's NBA is better than it was 20 years ago.

ok. The Rip Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince aren't the picks I would make. To each his own.

Yao might get in for all he did to bring the game to China. Other than him, maybe Kevin Love gets in if he continues to dominate over a long period of time. Everyone else I would say no chance.

I would say Kevin Love is a lock as long as he stays in Minnesota. I don't know how his skills would translate over to a team like LA, Orlando, Portland, etc...

I would be shocked if 80% of that list makes multiple all-star games and it's going to be really hard to make the HOF if you can't even make a few all-star games.

I agree, and that aids to the point that there is much more talent to spread around that big time players might get voted off the team.

I've read the entire thread including the preposterous statement that prior to the 90s the league was a bastion of "dorky white guys". It seems you're basing your misguided opinion simply upon the nebulous concept that today's players are "crazy good".

They aren't big time players though except in your strange world where Salmons is on a hall of fame path. Multiple teams have not cared about Salmons and let him go for almost nothing. Kevin Martin is ok and Beasley has been nothing but above average so far.

If you put Kevin Martin in the 90s no one would care. Teams in the 90s had player who put his numbers up that no one cared about too.

In a roundabout way, Ugie stated that 2 of the 3 of Kevin Martin, Salmons, and Beasley will be hall of famers.

Yeah, I disagree and you've got bad "facts". There is a lesser percentage of blacks in the NBA today than there was 30 years ago. Maybe the whites back then were "dorkier", but that's pretty subjective. They wore smaller shorts and less expensive shoes.

I gotta disagree with you Ugie. As much as I love the NBA right now, and as good as the league has been for about the last 5 or 6 years, the 90s were a much more exciting decade for NBA (and college) basketball.

Just watch any of the All Star games between 1990 and 1995 and note the ridiculous amount of talent, and just count the number of hall of famers.

Chris Bosh wouldn't have made an All Star team in the 90s.

too busy, he's waiting on hold with B&B now

Martin is pretty good, he's almost a 20ppg career scorer; I think he'd be a good 3rd player on a championship team

Well now we are going to get back into the talent vs. athletic ability argument between the two eras. Just because players put up the same numbers then as a player now doesn't mean they were "as good".

I'd give the overall edge to the older generation. I love the NBA now, but there is a pretty big drop off between the stars and the rest. The guys that one would consider just good now would probably be role players back in the day. This doesn't include LeBron, Howard, Rose, etc...
