EMAIL AND TEXTING!!!

Danny can't take it anymore! He says he doesn't need to be so "connected"! Aw' shucks Barney R. Everyman, you don't need all that crazy, whacked out tech disturbing your simple, country life, blue collar life! Good for you!

No email, no text....it's just too much!
How about those 20 flat screens in your house? Too much tech there?
What about your fancy luxury car? To many dials and wheels for you?
Internal combustions engine? Who needs it!
Fantasy Sports computer programs? Even though you've been playing for years you still "don't know how to add or drop anyone!"
Rubber-soled shoes? battery powered golf carts? Asprin? That's shit's crazy!

Yeah, you just need a horse, some dusty, beat up blue jeans, a rolled cigarette and a cold beer to feel ok with a simple mans world.

Mac is Old Skool! Looking for a night of John Wayne and Schlitz!

But I kinda know what he is saying.

Miss a little these days, miss a lot.

But thank god I missed that Friday Video!

I also wish they would be done with the "we're happy for ya" drop. I don't know why, but that drop is just plain annoying.

I understand where Mac is coming from.

While it's nice that modern technology provides us with so many conveniences, I find myself getting annoyed at something simple like my phone beeping everytime a new email goes to my Gmail or when someone writes on my Facebook wall. I've turned those options off.

It really is a big reason why I dont facebook. Between texts, my cell phone, emails, this board and twitter, I am fine.

Just don't need another source of communication.

yeah I still have a home phone and and my office number.

I totally get what mac is saying. Technology makes it so you can never stop working because everyone can get a hold of you in an instant. Instead of being envious think about it for a little bit.

We got rid of our home phone 3 years ago.
I don't Facebook & never will. I know too many people who are obsessed with Facebook, telling everyone what they are doing & thinking every minute of every day.
Who cares?

I thought he was done with AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" at the top of the 9 & 11a hours...Today, they went with the Rolling Stones' "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'" from "Sticky Fingers" as the show's open...

It wasn't about Facebook/Twitter/MySpace/Blogs etc. People bitch about not caring about what other people are doing....well, don't use it. Pretty simple, no one is tatooing it on your eyeballs or forcing you to do status updates.

Mac going on and on about something as simple and non-intrusive as texing and *GASP* email as being too "connected" is pretty lame. He's "had enough" of the totally intrusive and hi-tech communications advances....text/email(really) and he is "done with those". I know he the "Blue Collar Everyman" is part of his schtick but come on Mac, it's a stretch. Are you afraid of the Postal Service or telephones? Do voicemail messages leave you feeling closed in?

But, whatever, I don't even know what I just wrote. What are we talking about here? Poor Mac, the only talk/groundswell that his show garners on the nations #1 sports gossip website is a thread by a guy who doesn't even know what he's posting.

Sad times for Mac....and me. (Great movie)

I e-mailed Mac yesterday about his pronunciation of the word "yesterday." Did he read it on the air? He's pronouncing it the correct way today. I didn't get a chance to listen yesterday after I sent the e-mail.

I know this is a couple days late, but I have heard Mac say he won't miss the NFL come September. He says he will have the White Sox in the playoffs, golfing on Sundays during Indian Summer, Bulls and Blackhawks coming off titles, and College Football.

I will agree with some of the people that says it's March and that may be the reason and it could change closer to September. I will just say on Mac's options other than NFL, that College Football is the only sure thing.

On Golf- never know what the weather will be like once it comes September.

White Sox- You get an injury, or Adam Dunn is more of a strikeout than homerun player, Kenny and Ozzie blow up.

Bulls and Blackhawks- The Hawks are back to the eight seed, so could still miss the playoffs, and tough title to win. On the Bulls, they are playing great right now, but still wouldn't give up on the Heat, even though they swept the Bulls. Also, the NBA could be on strike next year.

So if the White Sox and Cubs are both out of it by September, weather is bad, NBA on Lockout, and if the Blackhawks somehow miss the playoffs are a 1st round exit, I bet his story changes.

Sorry but I have to disagree with this one. September around here is pretty much idyllic.

* Average High Temperature: 74°F (23°C)
* Average Low Temperature: 55°F (13°C)
* Average Precipitation: 3.4"

Less average precip than June (3.7"), July (3.7"), and August (3.6").
