Tom Waddle is pretty smart not to start working at ESPN1000 until later this month.

WTF is there to REALLY talk about? Not much.

Now he can get rolling and be hitting his stride, just in time for the NCAA Tourney.

Then again, he's from the football factory known as Boston College. So you'd expect intelligence from the school that has given us the likes of William Green, Bill Romonowski, Mark Chmura, Tom Condon, Fred Smerlas, Mike Mayok, Jack Concannon and Mike Mamula.

I think Waddle is going to shine on ESPN 1000. If they do end up putting Silvy and him at 9 to noon, I expect their numbers will be higher than that of MJH's due to their competition.

I think Salisbury and flesh eating bacteria would be a good combination.

Rosenbloom & Unemployment would be the best combo.

I like Waddle but he would have to step up his game in order to be good in a prime time slot. I have seen several people I like in night shifts fail in daytime hours.

Here's how I'm looking at it gd. Silvy and Carmen put up a 5+ in their last book in the 9 to noon slot. Waddle is one of the most likeable former athlete media types in this town right now. I think they'd easily build a 6 by this fall.

I don't care about his ratings. I want him to be entertaining.

what about a 3-man booth?

JD and Carm evenings?

Where does J-Hood fit in?

While Silvy worked with Marrioti (or was it "worked for Mariotti?), Carmen and JD has the night show. It was nothing special. JD and Hood was a far better show.

Chomp on this one:

Rosenbloom, Waddle and Harry from 9-noon (Waddle and Tiny could get Rosey to 'enjoy' sports again)

Dan Patrick from Noon - 2PM

Mac, Jurko and Hood from 2-6

Silvy and Carm from 6-10

I always thought Hood and Silvy worked well together.

Don't you guys realize by now that ESPN 1000 just doesn't like Hood. He's been there for 1 year now. Since he's been there they've hired Coppock and given him regular weekend shows. They have also hired Rosie, Salisbury and Waddle and given them regular shows.

I think if they liked Hood he'd have a regular show by now.

All three of those guys have a much higher Q rating than Hood, not necessarily because 1000 does not like him. Mac told us Hood did anger Spaceball, but who knows where he stands with Craig.

I personally am not that big of fan of Hood. I think he is ok when he fills in on MJH, but he rips off most of Mac's schtick.

Silvy, Waddle and Hood would be a good poor man's MJH. Same role definitions, basically.

I actually had this same exact thought last week. Why not have a AM and PM drive threesome? I think Silvy, Waddle and Hood would be a fine radio show.

That would mean paying another on-air guy.....

Of course, I'm sure it'd be cheaper than Salisbury
