....Missouri State to be exact. Purdue assistant Paul Lusk is the new coach.

Quote:
Paul Lusk has been hired as the head coach of the Missouri State University men's basketball team. Lusk comes to the Bears from Purdue University, where he served as assistant head coach. Lusk replaces Cuonzo Martin, who left MSU last week to become head coach at the University of Tennessee. Ironically Martin was also an assistant at Purdue before coming to MSU so Lusk is literally following in Cuonzo's footsteps.

Good for him. They knew this day was coming for a while. He's supposed to be another rising star and probably won't be there for long either.

I agree he won't be there long. I laugh all the time at some of the Missouri State fans down here that think since Lusk has a degree from MO State that he is going to be the really good coach that comes here and stays for a long time.

If that's the case they better hope that the SIU job never opens up. He has an even bigger connection there.

It must suck knowing that you simply can't keep a coach if any big conference school wants your coach.

If the reports are true that Mizzou has hired Haith to be their new coach. I think Missouri State got the better coach.

They probably couldn't hire Lusk because he had no head coaching experience and that's tough to sell.

I think they will regret not going after Cuonzo Martin, but supposedly state politics was important in that decision.
