In my opinoin, what can be fixed, is to make players stay longer than 1 year, say you can go from high school or go to college and stay at least 2 years.
The rule should be: Jump to NBA or stay 2 years in college. The NBA players union has proposed something similar. A lot of theses lottery type players just stop going to class after the tournament, so I don't think you can just have a blanket 2 year rule.
I agree with this, and hopefully after the awful game last night, the good thing that can come out is a rule like this.
With College Basketball as bad as it is, that's why I can't buy the Butler run, of their wins in the tournament, maybe the 1 win you give them credit for is Syracuse last year. They beat Utep, Sienna, Syracuse, Kansas State, a beat up Michigan State, and this year, ODU-8,9 game can go either way. Pitt- was Pitt really a 1 seed and it was the easiest bracket, Wisconsin couldn't hit a shot, and FLorida, like Brick put, was not really a 2 seed and then a VCU team.
To put Shaka Smart with Brad Stevens, these guys might stay at their college, but how good are they really, to me they are taking advantage of the system, and if it changes do these guys go away, unless they take the big job.
Lastly, I know some people won't agree, but the big winner of this year's tournament was College Football, you may not like the BCS, but the regular season matters, and 1 bowl game may matter, but in their big bowl games, you have a matchup of good teams.
