I love talk radio, they keep on playing the Tim Hardaway comments and yet they have failed to mention he apologized for those comments. Not that it makes it any better, but you think if they wanted to be the professionlas they say they are, they would report that also.

Vann,

I'm not sure how North handled the Hardaway comments, but I know for a fact that Mike and Mike (sans Mike) played Hardaway's initial comments, John Ameche's reponse, and Hardaway's apology.

Even though i didn't listen to North this morning, i would be a pretty penny that he only played Hardaway's initial garbage.

Quote from Hardaway:
Quote:
"Yes, I regret it. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said I hate 'g@y' people or anything like that," he said. "That was my mistake."

So Hardaway.. really didnt appoligize for hating 'g@y' people... he applogized that he said those comments in public! :)

Hardaway is a dope, no doubt about it, but my point is that North and the Score are famous for not discussing the whole story, its just cheap.

when you say you hate an entire group of people, it's hard to care what the other side of the story is.

isn't it ironic that 1/3 of Run T-M-C spent most of his playing career in the Bay Area and Miami? He must have been crawling out of his skin to be in those 2 cities!

Lets see, a African American uses the word "hate' and wants Homosexuals to use different bathrooms and locker rooms. Am I the only one to find this ironic.

Very ironic and very sad as well. Hardaway probrally wants them to sit on the back of the team bus as well.

Beardown:

Do you really think Hardaway wants homosexuals to EVER sit BEHIND him? for sure, you would think that he always wants to keep an eye on homosexuals at all times!

Has anyone asked him why he hates homosexuals? I would think that would be the natural follow up. If his answer has anything to do with promiscuity or overt sexuality I would then ask whether he also hates Scottie and the Rain Man.

Hate stems from lack of knowledge. I am sure North will be buying a Hardaway poster today.

I liked it today when Fred said "if someone I knew told me they were homsexual, I would have questions for them". I wonder what Fred would ask?

Not really. I have had full knowledge of several things that I hate.

You must keep in mind that Tim was a basketball player who worked on this game, and paid little attention to parsing phrases and words on controversial subjects. His play on the court always exhibited teamwork. I'm sure there were many teammates over the years he couldn't stand personally but never let it get in the way. His apology was sincere in my opinion.

LOL. I love that Fred comment. "If someone I know was g.a.y I would have questions for them." What's there to ask Fred? You idiot.

Lets play "What would Fred's questions be."

--So, does that mean that you don't like sports now?

--That time we were in the locker room together. Uhh. Does that make me g.a.y now too?

there is no way his apology was sincere. there is no doubt that his agent got in his ear and told him to do some damage control. during his original statement with lebatard, he sounded adamant on the subject and didn't seem like he had trouble expressing himself. he said EXACTLY how he felt. not until this whole thing received negative exposure, did he recant his words.

Actually North did mention Hardaway's apology. But in typical Pappy fashion he added "He should have stuck to his guns and not apologized".
